SingStore to debut with over 200 songs, priced $1.49 each

333w ago - Sony has revealed some more details for the launch of SingStar on May 20th in the US. There will be a stand-alone SKU with just the game for $39.99 and one with two microphones for $59.99.

The disc will contain 30 songs and the American singstore will contain over 200 songs when it launches there and will be updated each month with 25-50 new songs.

To quote: When SingStar initially launches in the US, players will be required to download a patch, approximately 20MB in size. This will enable the features of the European SingStar Vol. 2 for the American release.

This patch will add an enhanced Duet mode, which adds harmonies into Duet tracks. Remote Play has also been added: you won't be able to play the game, but you will be able to access the SingStore, queue up downloads, and visit the My SingStar Online community.
 

Siren: New Translation Japanese Debut Trailer out!

335w ago - A Japanese trailer has been released for the PS3 exclusive Siren: New Translation.

The game is 90 percent complete, and is a remake of the first Siren game.

The game is set for release in Japan on July 24, 2008 and a demo is expected to be released on April 24.

Amazon Kindle sells out on debut

356w ago - Amazon's Kindle e-book reader has sold out despite scepticism about whether the device will prove popular.

A notice on the Kindle pages on the Amazon web store said "heavy customer demand" for the device meant it would be out of stock until 3 December.

Since its launch on 19 November the device has been widely examined but opinions about it are mixed.

It has won praise for being easy to use but many have criticised the way it forces people to pay for free content.

The Kindle device was on sale on the retailer's store soon after Amazon boss Jeff Bezos unveiled it earlier this week. Within hours, reported gadget blog Engadget, the device had sold out prompting Amazon to add a message about stocks being replenished early next month.

Despite this sales success reviews of Kindle on the Amazon site are divided. Overall the gadget has won a rating of 2.5 stars out of five from those who have spent time with it.

Many Amazon reviewers praised its easy to read screen and the size and heft of the device. Owners of it also like the inbuilt Amazon store and the ease with which they can load books and other documents on to it via the EVDO network of US carrier Sprint.
