Video: Sony Confirms Netflix Will be Disc-free on PS3 Next Week

183w ago - Several months ago we reported that search and discless functionality were being added by Netflix, and today Netflix VP of Product Development Greg Peters has confirmed that the online video service will be going disc-free on Sony's PS3 entertainment system next week.

Video: Sony Confirms LOVEFiLM Application Hits PS3 in November

184w ago - Over the weekend Sony has confirmed alongside a video reveal that their LOVEFiLM application will be hitting the PS3 entertainment system in November, 2010.

For those unaware, LoveFilm is Europe's own online movie rental service similar to Netflix and can be used for £6 a month, or for free if you are already subscribed to LoveFilm.

Subscribers will get to watch movies such as Star Trek, Collateral, Alexander, and other big hits instantly via either browsing or searching on your PlayStation 3 console.

To quote: "From Autumn, film fans on LoveFilm subscription packages can start streaming thousands of titles through their TV to their PS3.

Open up a world of interactivity and scroll through popular titles and search through categories including 'Pick of the Week', 'Most watched' and 'Highest Rated'.

Free trials and incentives will be made available to those who are not already a LOVEFiLM subscriber so no-one misses out!

Treyarch Confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops Nazi Zombie Mode

192w ago - Today Treyarch's Community Manager Josh Olin confirmed that the Nazi Zombie mode from Call of Duty: World at War would be making a return in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.

In addition Josh Olin also posted on his Twitter that the hardened and prestige editions would come will all four of the original maps from World at War.

No word on whether the guns and equipment will remain the same or be upgraded into newer versions from Black Ops.

For those wondering, Call of Duty: Black Ops comes out on November 9th, 2010 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii consoles.
 

Warner Bros Confirms Batman: Arkham City is Coming in 2011

194w ago - Warner Bros confirmed today the title and release window for the next Batman videogame developed by Rocksteady Studios, namely Batman: Arkham City which is coming next fall to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

As the title implies, Batman is headed to Gotham City for the sequel, which has now become the new maximum security "home" for all of the city's criminals. Not much else was revealed.

WB says the game will feature a brand-new story, include a new cast of classic characters and villains, and new enhanced gameplay features.

To quote: The (amazing) covers of the new GameInformer confirms Catwoman will be in Arkham City, and by the looks of it, will be playing a major role in the story.

Arkham City was one of several names registered for the game picked up on last month. Two other confirmed villains so far include Mr. Freeze, played by voice actor Maurice LaMarche, and Talia al Ghul - daughter of Ra's al Ghul - played by actress Stana Katic.

Actor Mark Hamill confirmed it us in an interview last May he'll be reprising his role as the voice of Joker for the game for the last time ever. "This will be my last, there's no question about that," he said. "But it's the last hurrah."
 

Sony Confirms PlayStation Move UK Pricing & Starter Pack Details

194w ago - A few weeks back Sony announced PlayStation Move PS3 motion controller bundles and pricing for North America, and today they have confirmed UK pricing and Starter Pack details.

To quote from VG247.com (linked above): The Motion Controller itself will be £34.99, while the Sub Controller will be £24.99. The PlayStation Eye will cost £24.99.

There will also be a £49.99 bundle featuring the Motion Controller, the Eye and a starter disc.
