219w ago - Beginning with Godzilla, which arrives on November 10, 2009, Sony will make it easier for PS3 and PlayStation Portable users to transfer digital copies from Blu-ray Disc for on-the-go watching.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America will add a new feature to Blu-ray releases allowing owners of the PSP and PlayStation 3 to directly transfer a film to their portable from the PS3.
Currently, Sony includes the digital copy of Blu-ray movies on a separate DVD-ROM for transfer to the PSP.
To quote: "Sony will include the new Blu-ray feature on Nov. 10 release Godzilla, upcoming release The Ugly Truth and select other releases.
For Godzilla, the only Digital Copy included will be the new feature on the Blu-ray disc, meaning that it will only be available to owners of both the PSP and PS3.
For The Ugly Truth, Sony will include a Digital Copy on the Blu-ray Disc for PSP and PS3 owners and on a separate DVD-ROM for transfer to Apple iTunes or the PC."
221w ago - Today SCEE has announced PSN hit Wipeout HD will see a Blu-ray release for the PlayStation 3 console.
The release will include the original game, as well as the recently released Fury expansion, all for £19.99 and released on October 16, 2009.
To quote: It comes as it was rumored this morning a Dutch PS3 site had the game listed for retail for €24.99 on the same date.

222w ago - With Samsung now having a major advantage, we can only hope that the MKV file format is added to the PS3's accepted format list soon so that converting will be a thing of the past.
At IFA, Samsung announced that Blu-ray player models BD-P1600, BD-P3600 and BD-P4600 will support both YouTube and the MKV file format.
Existing players will be able to access those features by upgrading the firmware. The company plans to launch BD recorders in 2010, and is holding a wait-and-see stance towards 3-D.
