99w ago - SCEA Senior Producer Harvard Bonin has officially announced today alongside a video and FAQ that the Starhawk Public PS3 Beta begins on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
To quote: This past November and December we conducted our Private Beta for Starhawk. It was incredibly valuable to our team at LightBox and SCEA Santa Monica.
We really appreciate all of the time that players have spent uncovering bugs and glitches, we would have never been able to find this many of them without real-world gameplay.
The Beta effort has been a true partnership with our community so we humbly thank you all. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to progress to the next chapter in the development of the game: the Public Beta!
We're now happy to announce that the Starhawk Public Beta begins this Tuesday, January 17th. This is a crucial step for us as we'll be testing all sorts of things, including game balance, server traffic, and general bugs.
This is also a chance for more players to finally see what we've been working so hard on. As we've been getting so much support and encouragement from fans and press alike, we're excited to spread the love and get more input to make the best game possible.
104w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has posted up a hands-on video today showcasing Sorcery for PlayStation Move, which is slated to arrive on PS3 in Spring 2012.
To quote: One of the more memorable action games I've played this year is a game uses the PlayStation Move motion controller to paint a symphony of destruction.
Last seen at the E3 2010 PlayStation press conference, Sorcery captured the imaginations of PS3 owners while remaining tantalizingly out of reach. At last week's PlayStation media showcase in New York City, I was finally allowed to go hands-on with Sorcery and speak with its design director, Brian Upton, who stated that the game is on-track to release this spring.
Sorcery is running on a heavily modified version of the Unreal engine, and the art direction has progressed by leaps and bounds since its last showing.
The game now skews a bit older, with nastier monster designs and edgier spellcasting combat. Watch the video, read our full Q&A, then let us know what you think of Sorcery in the comments!
PlayStation.Blog: I'll cut to the chase: Why have we had to wait so long to see Sorcery again?
