266w ago - Shortly after the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) on 12th June 2008, a rumor surfaced saying that a new extended ending would be released exactly six months after the games release.
No details were mentioned about what this extended ending would contain, but at the end of MGS4 Old Snake says that he has six months left to live.
To quote: So six months of Snake's life from 12th June 2008 would bring it to 12th December 2008 which is exactly when this extended ending is rumored to be released, expect this to be released as an update patch that you will have to download via the PlayStation Network or it could even be a code that unlocks the extended ending as the video could already be on the MGS4 Blu-Ray disc.
But until this information is confirmed by Konami or Kojima Productions it will remain as a rumour and unconfirmed, even though this would make a good new feature to the game.
267w ago - Microsoft's UK head of gaming and entertainment Stephen McGill said that there was "lots of great stuff" coming in 2009 that people "don't know about".
With the important Christmas period in full swing most Xbox 360 owners are well aware of the titles yet to be released on the console during what's left of 2008.
However, Microsoft has been relatively quiet on the 360's line-up for 2009, focusing instead on 2008 titles like blockbuster gore-fest Gears of War 2 and more casual-oriented titles like Lips, You're in the Movies and Scene It? Box Office Smash.
McGill said: "Well I know a lot of the games coming out from us and our third parties. Most of them, in fact, have not been announced because everyone's very focused on what's out for Christmas. So it would do our third party partners a disservice for me to announce their great line-ups before they're ready to.
"So obviously we've announced things like Halo Wars coming out in the Spring, Halo 3: Recon later next year, Resi Evil 5 is coming to the platform, (I'm) really excited about that. So I think we're very focused on what's coming out for Christmas, we've talked about things coming out early next year. Very soon at some point we'll have the exclusive content for Grand Theft Auto on Xbox 360. So there's lots of great stuff...
267w ago - According to PSX Extreme (linked above), Nomura has told a publication that we will see a battle scene in FFXIII before the end of the year. He also touched upon the benefits of the Blu-ray format for the game.
To quote: However, according to Final Fantasy XIII-net, (details translated by a NeoGAF forum member), the latest information tells us we will see gameplay footage for FFXIII before 2008 is out.
Square-Enix's Tetsuya Nomura spoke about the game in a Gemaga interview, and he says we will "see a battle scene in FFXIII before the end of the year." He also mentions the benefits of Blu-Ray for their ambitious RPG, and furthermore, they should soon release information on the game's expected-to-be-stellar voiceover cast.
For many, this game remains the most anticipated title of the new generation, and despite the delays, it remains high on everyone's priority list. It is coming to the Xbox 360 as well - PS3 owners still haven't recovered from the sting of that announcement - but Final Fantasy Versus XIII remains a PS3 exclusive, and the PSP will get Final Fantasy Agito XIII.
Nomura touched on that in the interview, by the way, and says the current battle interface for the handheld title is only "temporary."

268w ago - Sony's Home Community Manager TedTheDog recently replied on the Official PlayStation boards when asked if he could hint on PlayStation Home's launch stating:
"How about "this year" then? Sorry, you dont have too long to wait compared to the length of the project so far, but I know the lack of a date is annoying. If it helps v1.0 is in internal testing and will hit the Closed BETA in the coming weeks as will more testers by invitation."
Additionally, CVG (linked above) is reporting that the November issue of Qore will include invites into the next Home Closed BETA.
To quote: Meanwhile, it has emerged that subscribers of the US-only online PSN magazine, Qore, will get invites into Home next month.
TedTheDog's reply in full: How about "this year" then? Sorry, you dont have too long to wait compared to the length of the project so far, but I know the lack of a date is annoying.
If it helps v1.0 is in internal testing and will hit the closed beta in the coming weeks as will more testers by invitation. Something I mentioned to the BETA testers today is important to remember. 1.0 is a major milestone on our journey...
