European PlayStation Store Update for April 1, 2010

50°
252w ago - Today Mike Kebby from the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted this week's European PSN update, as follows:

I'm pleased to say we have available the pre-order for the forthcoming Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse series of episodes.

Until the launch of the first episode you can pre-order the bundle at a lower price, and then once the episodes are released (one each month) you can download them directly from the store.

If you haven't enjoyed any of the previous titles featuring this great team, then prepare for some serious fun; and it's not much longer to wait until the first episode is upon us.

This week you're also going to be able to take another trip into the world of Heavy Rain, with a new scene featuring Madison (some of you may recognise this as the scene that was used to demo the game at Leipzig 2008).

It goes without saying this is all served up with lots more great content, which is all handily listed below.

If I don't get the chance to talk to you directly in the comments this week, have an awesome Easter, and see you on the flipside.

PlayStation Store via PS3

Special Offers (PSP content also available via PSP and Media Go)

(Available until the 15th of April)

For two weeks only, you'll be able to grab a great deal on some great PSP titles. We're calling them favourites because, well, they're some of our favourites (though like all our children we love them all equally, just some more so than others) and the promotion features a range of well loved games that we're sure you'll want to snap up at these brilliant prices.

I'm really pleased with the titles we have been able to get reduced for you and feel that there is definitely something for everyone here, but don't just take my word for it, see for yourself by reading the full listing below.

Sony to Change EU PlayStation Store Updates to Wednesdays

200°
253w ago - Since the inception of Sony's PlayStation Store, weekly updates for both North America and Europe have been on Thursdays, but beginning in May Europeans will get them a day early as they are moving to Wednesdays.

A press release recently sent to PS3 and PSP developers said the date for updating the PlayStation Store is subject to change. From May 5th onward, the updates to the virtual platform will be made Wednesday.

Remember that the updates are Xbox Live on Wednesday, which may be one reason for the upcoming change.

To quote, in part, from the release: "Changes to SCEE Game Store Publish Day

On May 5th, 2010 the SCEE Game Store of PlayStationStore publish day will move to Wednesdays for all content.

The final Thursday update published will be on April 29th, 2010."
