Seabass plans radical overhaul for PES 2009

50°
362w ago - We're currently sunning ourselves out in Seville, Spain at the Pro Evolution Soccer finals and after a triumphant clean sweep of the annual five-a-side journo tournament at the Olympic Stadium (defending team England's crown by winning every game and beating the Germans 1-0 in the final), we managed to sit down with Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka, PES's legendary Executive Producer to hear his thoughts on PES 2008 and his vision for the future of the series.

Although this season's version is now complete on PS3 and 360 and should be in your hands fairly shortly (and awesome it is too), Seabass hasn't been content to rest on his laurels and has already begun work on PES 2009, where he promises a 'complete overhaul' of the game in absolutely every respect.

A brand new series of gameplay modes for PES 2009 are apparently already complete and Seabass is also promising that there will be a series of 'crucial' changes to gameplay which will help him fulfil his vision for subsequent next gen versions of the game.

We've put together a big interview piece for you to peruse and fascinating stuff it is too for the hardcore PES afficianado, with Seabass revealing his thoughts on the new PS3 version, how the Online side of the series will develop, what impact the DualShock 3 has had on development and the thorny...

Visual Comparison: White Knight Story vs. The Last Remnant

50°
363w ago - With so many great role playing games coming out within the next year, we thought we might compare two of the most anticipated titles on PlayStation 3: White Knight Story and The Last Remnant (assuming Final Fantasy XIII isn't due out within the next year).

While details are still scarce, we can compare the visual styles and graphics of each title. The following images are not final product screenshots so keep in mind that things may change over the coming months.

Sony secures exclusive for Grand Theft Auto 7

50°
363w ago - According to the November 2007 issue # 76 of the Official Xbox Magazine Sony has secured the next Grand Theft Auto, which would be number 7 in the series, to be a true exclusive to the Playstation 3.

"Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of the Cell and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that" as said by Sony's Michael Shorrock in a statement to the press. " We handed Rockstar a signed blank check because we were short sighted enough to let Grand Theft Auto's exclusivity get away from us. Oops!"

Looks like the Xbox fans may be out of luck when it come to the next installment of Grand Theft Auto. If they do release a 360 version it sounds like it would have to be on multiple dvd discs if the game truly takes advantage of Blu-ray.

One thing is for sure. This will be interesting to watch play out. Stay tuned!
