4w ago - Community Developer Zack Cooper shared a video trailer today unveiling Splinter Cell Blacklist emerges from the shadows on the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: I'm stoked to speak with you guys about our latest trailer for Blacklist, which we're calling "Stalk. Strike. Silence." If you're a Splinter Cell fan, you know that there's a rich history to the franchise.
The idea behind Blacklist is to embrace those roots by bringing back most of the core elements and merging them with the advanced gameplay and graphical evolution of the more recent Splinter Cell games.
We're also bringing back that sweet, dark, geopolitical drama that Tom Clancy fans are familiar with. In Splinter Cell Blacklist, the high-level storyline centers on a group of rogue nations coming together to create an ultimatum; they've had enough of the American occupancy on their land. This collective institutes a countdown, warning the United States to back off... or else.
That 'or else' involves specific threats to American interests. That's where Sam Fisher, now the leader of his newly formed Fourth Echelon unit, their mobile command center, the Paladin, and the classic Splinter Cell globetrotting come into play.
Looking at this trailer in particular, we wanted to re-establish Sam for both...
4w ago - Writer and Director Swery made available a video today announcing that Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut hits PS3 on April 30th, 2013.
Below are the details, to quote: The development of Deadly Premonition is sort of like finishing a full-length marathon...several times over. In other words, Deadly Premonition is my hobby, my business, my study, and my motivation in life - it's an all-encompassing journey and adventure.
Especially to me, it has been a very vital tool to connect with people around the world. It is a feeling that I equate with romance or marriage; like somebody I love dearly, or like a kid who will never listen to his parents.
But I don't have any kids though. Haha! It has been a wonderful journey, and one that I hope will continue to always live on.
I have always been surprised and humbled by the feedback that fans and press have given Deadly Premonition, and by the adornment and cult following that it has garnered. Personally, I would like to think that Deadly Premonition has received the status that it has because there weren't really any games out at the time that were quite like it.
Fans who enjoyed the original will look to seek out another game that will provide them with a similar level of interest and excitement, but perhaps...
4w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin posted up a video today announcing that Dragon's Crown for both PS3 and PS Vita platforms will be melting faces this August 6, 2013.
To quote: Dragon's Crown has had a long development process - especially for those of you who remember E3 2011 when Ignition first mentioned the game.
But now ATLUS and Odin Sphere developer Vanillaware are putting a stake in the ground for August 6th, 2013. If you're not familiar with Dragon's Crown, it's a 2D multiplayer action beat-em-up exclusive to the PS3 and PS Vita that features four-person co-op play, six character classes, skills that can be leveled up, and all the dungeon-exploring, orc-slapping, treasure-seeking action you can shake a magical staff at.
If you're not familiar with the date August 6th, please consult a calendar.
One of the reasons development took so long is the painstaking detail that makes every character, background or combat animation worthy of the artistic vision of Vanillaware. The intricacies in the artwork are immediately noticeable on both the PS3 and PS Vita versions.
Speaking of, we're working right now on making sure that gamers can take their saved games with them on the Vita. So while Vita adventurers can't party up with PlayStation dungeoneers, it doesn't...
4w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Gabriel Graziani shared a video spotlighting Assassin's Creed III: The Redemption for PS3 which arrives today.
Below are the details, to quote: The final chapter of Assassin's Creed III's three-part Tyranny of King Washington single-player DLC series is nearly upon us! The mad King George Washington has retreated within his New York stronghold and Ratonhnhake:ton must prepare an assault against Washington's incredible fortress.
As the stakes continue to rise in Ratonhnhake:ton's pursuit of Washington, so too must his strength and ferocity. Calling on an ancient source of might, Ratonhnhake:ton must once again risk his sanity to embark on a mysterious and dangerous Sky Journey in order to release the Power of the Bear.
The Power of the Bear enables Ratonhnhake:ton to strike the ground with such immeasurable force that all nearby enemies will be hurled into the air or crushed into the ground. Even more remote enemies will be staggered by the concentration of will and raw power, making the Power of the Bear an effective method of crowd control.
Like Ratonhnhake:ton's other abilities (Eagle and Wolf), the Power of the Bear can even be used from rooftops, unleashing a devastating...
4w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson is here with the first video below showcasing the upcoming Ratchet & Clank movie which hits theaters in 2015.
To quote: One of the biggest questions we've gotten in the last few years is "When are you going to make a Ratchet & Clank movie?" The truth is, we've wanted to do a movie for a long time!
Ratchet & Clank's action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures have really been the basis for a fantastic game series, and we think it'd translate perfectly to the big screen.
We've been looking for the right partner to help us bring a Ratchet & Clank movie to life, and we're thrilled to announce that Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are currently in production on Ratchet & Clank's first cinematic adventure.
Insomniac is honored to play a hands-on role with the film's production, screenplay, character development, and animation consulting. Furthermore, our own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman, who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games, is writing the script for the film as well.
