199w ago - To add more fuel on the fire of the last PS3 Slim rumor of a September 2nd European launch date, today comes the latest chapter in PlayStation 3 Slim speculation.

UK site GhostStorm (linked above) is reporting that UK chain WHSmith are currently selling PS3 consoles in-store at a reduced price of £200.

When they asked the retailer a reason for the clearance, they were told, to quote:

"We are clearing PS3s to make room for any new products that may come from Sony in the future."

So the question that now remains: Is WHSmith privy to some information on an upcoming PS3 Slim model, or is their giant clearance exercise completely unrelated to a potential PlayStation 3 Slim appearance this fall? Time will tell...

PS: Can anyone else confirm that WHSmith is selling them for £200 locally?

200w ago - Update: SCEE has told GamerZines that Fat Princess will cost £11.99 in the UK.

SCEA Santa Monica Studio Managing Producer Deborah Mars has announced the Fat Princess date today via PlayStation Blog. To quote:

We're proud to announce that Fat Princess will make her royal appearance on the PlayStation Network this Thursday, July 30th for $14.99.

Fat Princess will be released simultaneously worldwide in N. America, Europe and Asia. A Japan release is also in the works, and we'll have more information on that in weeks to come.

The sheer amount of questions submitted was fantastic, and we really appreciate everyone taking the time and effort to come up with some really good ones.

203w ago - Earlier today SCE UK had a article (now removed) on the upcoming Singstar Home Space.

After it made its way to the social gaming network N4G and several Web sites, it was pulled from their server... likely because it was posted prematurely.

At the European PlayStation Forum kingofscotland took notice, and this is all that currently remains along with the pics below:

"Dance the Night Away in Playstation Home: It's always Saturday night in The SingStar Rooms - a brand new party space in PlayStation Home.

You can get to The SingStar Rooms from the PlayStation Home World Map; grab your best outfit and head over to where the Home community goes to party."

The Space, which will be themed around SingStar, will feature a music quiz (with prizes for your Home avatar) and, naturally, music.

205w ago - Despite the recent legal drama, 3D Realms claim that Duke Nukem Forever is still being developed.

According to ShackNews, the status disclosure can be found within court documents relating to the franchise, to quote:

"[3D Realms/Apogee Ltd.] admits that it has continually worked on the development of the DNF for many years, and continues to do so," reads the specific clause.

It also appears that publisher Take-Two began development of another Duke Nukem game, dubbed Duke Begins, in 2007 which was canned in April 2009 as publisher support ceased.

This of course leads to speculation that 'Duke Begins' was as much a bargaining chip in negotiations with 3D Realms as it was a legitimate product.
