Sony Details the 19 Classes of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

100°
19w ago - Square Enix Community Project Manager Hergen Thaens detailed the 19 classes of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PS4 fans today.

To quote: Welcome to another update on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - the biggest one so far. A lot of you have probably played the first beta phase from February 22nd to March 3rd - barely enough time to get your hands on one or two classes in a single city, right? Well then, let's introduce you to the others!

You're free to start in any of the three cities: Gridania, Ul'dah, or Limsa Lominsa. Most of you will want to get used to the game first, so you can play solo and get acquainted with everything.

Up until level 15, you've got tons of local quests and adventures that await you - and from level 15 onwards, the whole world opens up to you as you get access to the airship and the other cities.

If you want to play with your friends, you simply have to choose classes with the same starting cities, and you can group up right away.

Once you've acquired a class, you can change to it at any given time (outside of combat and dungeons) by simply equipping the weapon associated with it. It's that simple!

So, let's get started, shall we?

Gridania, One with the Forest

Gridania lies in the...

20w ago - Ronimo Games Producer Robin Meijer announced that Awesomenauts Assemble is out today on PlayStation 4 with a PS4 video trailer below.

To quote: Awesomenauts is making a major comeback today on PS4 in the form of Awesomenauts Assemble! If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you'll get the added bonus of a 20% discount during the first week.

Awesomenauts Assemble! combines modern, team-based multiplayer with classic, alien-blasting action. You'll play as one of 15 interstellar mercenaries, each with his or her own unique abilities and upgrades.

In battle, you'll team up with two other players. These can either be random players or friends, both online or offline through splitscreen.

Together, you'll be facing off against a team of enemy players, automated turrets, droids, and the local wildlife as you try to blast your way forward towards the goal of destroying the enemy base. And you'll do all this on lush, hand-drawn alien worlds.

If you last played Awesomenauts on PS3, you're definitely in for a treat. The game has seen an almost complete overhaul, from the menus and balance to the netcode, everything has been improved.

On top of that, a lot of content has been added compared to the original release. Awesomenauts Assemble! more than doubles...

Video: What is N++? An Intro to the PlayStation 4 Action-Platformer

200°
21w ago - Metanet Co-Founder Mare Sheppard is here today with an introduction video to their PlayStation 4 action-platformer called N++ below.

To quote: Hi everyone! This is Metanet, back with another update. Since our last post, we've been focused on getting N++ into an alpha state, which has mostly involved adding all of the particle effects, sounds, and animation that help to really bring things to life.

While the main core of the game has been working for a while, it's nice to finally see things with more bells and whistles!

We've also been making and arranging levels - a continuous process that will go on right up until the game ships - as well as doing some playtesting. People are responding well to the new levels so far, although we may have made some of them a bit too hard.

The good news is: we now have a playable demo which we'll be showing soon at [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links]. If you'll be at either of those events, please stop by and check it out!

For those of you who don't really know what N++ is, today we're going to delve further into one simple question: "What is N++?"

Sony Goes Hands-on with Helldivers PS4 on PlayStation 4

50°
22w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements went hands-on today with Helldivers PS4 on PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Helldivers marries real-life laughter and video game death better than it should. Within ten minutes of top-down mayhem, my team and I were mauled by a wild praying mantis, trampled by beetles, evaporated by ordinance, and crushed by our own orbital supply pod. And we couldn't stop laughing along the way.

This absurdly entertaining co-op shooter is coming to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita later this year, courtesy of Swedish developer Arrowhead Games. A brutally difficult experience spritzed with Starship Troopers aesthetics, Helldivers reminds us that some of the best multiplayer still emerges from couch co-op. And a countless array of untimely deaths.

Helldivers establishes its dystopian future with a sly wink. It's just serious enough to keep players on the battlefield, but only just. The inhabitants of Super Earth - under a "managed democracy" - face a three-pronged attack against a host of dangerous enemies. Deadly bug hordes included.

As a Helldiver, players will drop into procedurally-generated environments in order to drive back the alien menace. Their objectives include destroying bug nests, securing contested zones, and even protecting supply...
