151w ago - Today pspLT has released the first PS3 homebrew via DemonHades, namely a PC Engine emulator dubbed PCE Emu, that runs on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 without a dongle although a dongle is still required to install it.
To quote, roughly translated: Now, who is still with 3.41 firmware? Well, i don't know if this a good news or a not so pleasant one but it certainly worth of noting about.
Using a dongle to jailbreak your PS3 is hassling a lot of your time, even so the power + eject button is making it more annoying.
So, pspLT from DemonHades has released a nice emulator which is PCE.emu that works with the 3.41 PS3, dongleless. Except for the installation icon razz PCE.emu first PS3 Homebrew Working without Dongle on 3.41
PCE.emu is the name of the first emulator for PS3 that requires no dongle to work!! good one dongle is required to install it from INSTALL PACKAGE... but again to do ffuncionar consecutively and do not need eld ongle! the ps3 it works natively from the XMB, now let technical data:
+ Support for Zip files
+ Cue files can use external audio tracks in Ogg Vorbis...
To quote on the SNES9x PS3 changes: Build 4.4.3 (11-01-2010)
Autodetection of Super Scope/Mouse/Multitap had a bug in it - after you loaded a Super Scope/mouse game and then tried to load a multitap-compatible game, the game would attempt to hook up the Mouse/Scope instead due to an error in a switch/case statement. Fixed this.
Autodetection now works as expected. Please upgrade to 4.4.3 as soon as possible to avoid inconvenient problems.
157w ago - Today news of a Commodore 64 / C64 emulator for PS3 has arrived from AreaScout via PSGroove (linked above).
Not much information is available on this C-64 PlayStation 3 GameOS port for PS3 JailBreak users just yet except for the following details, to quote:
"It seems just about anything and everything is getting ported to the PS3. News comes to us, that a dev by the name of AreaScout, has undertaken a project, to port a Commodore 64 emulator to the PS3. Information is limited on this project, however, two screenshots from the project have surfaced and are located below.
Expect more information as it becomes available to us."
Some pictures are available below of the C64 PS3 emulator port!
157w ago - Today Jack Chen aka anita999 has shared a PlayStation 3 IDA IDC hypervisor dump script on xorloser's blog (linked above) alongside a PS3 Debug / Test Firmware version 3.41 leak from Blackpen0 there as well!
For those curious, the IDA script is used to extract the protection page list of process obj in PS3 Hypervisor dumps.
To quote: For those who are new to HV reversing like I am. Here I made a quick IDC script for those interested in tracing the process protection pages to realize the VA and RA address mapping being used by the process.
You must execute the HV_DUMP.IDC from xorloser first, then apply this IDC later because it requires a opd_table to be defined first. and it’s for 3.15 HV only because that’s the only HV dump I have. process 0 is not extractable. There seems some data missing in the process object of process 0.
