Spelunky Update: New Features Now Live on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

100°
6w ago - Sony Lead Account Manager Nick Suttner announced news of new features now live on their Spelunky update for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: With Spelunky finally making its glorious PS4 debut last month - hopefully you were able to grab it free in PlayStation Plus while it lasted! - there are more explorers than ever plumbing the depths of the jungle, battling incensed shopkeepers, and dying in an endless cavalcade of unexpected and hilarious ways.

For those new players still feeling overwhelmed, be sure to check out my Survival Guide from last year; a few basic tips go a long way, and the experience is even more fun when you're sharing tactics and stories of your travels with friends.

Speaking of sharing, you may have noticed that the PS4 has a few killer new features, including the ability to watch full replays of anyone's Daily Challenge run straight from the leaderboards, as well as seeing where your friends died (and what killed them) in the Daily Challenge, represented by their ghost. I'm thrilled to be able to announce that those features have been added to the PS3 and PS Vita versions, available now via a free update!

Not only that, but...

To quote: If you haven't been hiding under a rock for the last 2-3 years, you'll have noticed that there's an underground movement in the world of video games: indies.

Versus Evil is an indie publisher who has been lucky enough to partner with several talented, passionate indie studios to help them launch their "babies" into the big, wide, rabid world of gamers. Yes, that's YOU lot! We are beyond excited to tell you about a few games that will be coming to the PS4 in early 2015. Each one is unique in its own right.

Armikrog

This is just a really weird way to make a game, but it works! From the original game creators of Earthworm Jim and the Neverhood, comes a point and click adventure...wait for it... stop motion clay animation video game (Try and say that 10 times quickly!).

Supported by a quirky but quite mesmerizing original soundtrack from Terry Taylor, Armikrog will throw you into a rich, colorful world packed with lovable oddball characters and a lot of toilet humor.

The Banner Saga

Sony Announces Dragon Age: Inquisition is Great for Newcomers

100°
6w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements announced today that Dragon Age: Inquisition is great for newcomers to PS4 and PS3.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links], the latest chapter in BioWare's sweeping fantasy saga, wastes no time beginning its urgent, world-splitting story.

Truth be told, the developers have sewn a great amount of detail onto the main menu alone. Starting a new game catapults the idyllic scene of a snowy peace summit into utter devastation. And that's just the menu.

For those who have followed previous chapters of Dragon Age, the story is dense and rich with lore. But when a seething, green portal opens in our world and welcomes in legions of demons, players have a straightforward cause to rally behind.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition, players follow the story of a survivor that emerges from this demonic blast (almost) unscathed. The site of the explosion had been host to a peace summit organized by Divine Justinia, who sought an end to the strife between mages and Templars. With those plans wholly awry, the main character – the Inquisitor – is tasked with upholding Justinia's legacy and hunting down the demonic agents haunting the realm.

Terraria Comes to PS4 Tuesday: Bigger World, New Items, Cross-Play

100°
6w ago - 505 Games Senior Brand Manager Richard Gittins announced that Terraria comes to PS4 this Tuesday, complete with a bigger world, new items and cross-play!

To quote: It's hugely exciting to be bringing the world of Terraria to PS4.

We didn't feel it was necessary to tinker with the core mechanics of the game, which have underpinned its success to date, but we've definitely been able to take this console version to the next level and implement some fantastic new features in the process - It looks amazing running in HD on PS4 too!

The first thing to talk about is the scale of the PS4 version, which is almost triple the size of the original PS3 game.

A truly huge amount of content and features have been added, with well over 1,000 new items including 10 new ores, 4 new wood types, 31 new brick types, 12 new wing types, 29 new tinker combinations, 50 new paintings, 8 new friendly NPCs, 15 new pets, over 100 new enemies, 4 new bosses ... the list goes on, and on!

We've also listened to feedback from the community and looked at how people play the original console games to figure out where slight improvements might be made.

We wanted to address the immense scale of Terraria's world, which can actually be a blessing and a curse! Now players will be able...
