Wii Homebrew Browser v0.1.1 out, should make life easier

50°
343w ago - Teknecal has released his Homebrew Browser application. This neat little app allows you to grab the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii. No longer will you have to take your SD card out to load the files or transfer the files from your computer to the Wii or even use your computer. Once you install a homebrew application and you no longer want it on your SD card, you can delete it as simple as that!

Download: Wii Homebrew Browser v0.1.1

No more dead links, no more extracting files, no more finding out if there is an icon.png and meta.xml in the homebrew application/game!

Note: Not all applications/games are included yet. They will be added over time.

Here is a rather dodgy YouTube video of it in action. Now all we need is an app to install the homebrew browser app....

More Pictures of Life with PlayStation revealed

50°
344w ago - Although it was first mentioned HERE, the above translated page from watch.impress.co.jp shows some additional very cool pictures of the new Life with PlayStation features.

To me, it looks like Wii channels in Hi-Def are coming soon. Interestingly it doesn't say PS3 so I'm wondering if they are going to release this for the PSP too?

There are more statements about PS2 gaming and Home. Click the link above to see some more detailed info on Life with PlayStation.

Introducing "Life with PlayStation" for PS3

344w ago - Today, Sony Computer Entertainment exec Kaz Hirai announced "Life with PlayStation" for the PS3.

During the presentation, the "Life" was demoed for the audience for the first time – the service shows the Earth, and users can access current news and weather for locations around the world.

It's possible to even pull up the full article from the headline. Users can also set background music while looking at the Earth, checking the weather and the world news. Click through pics below to see it in action.

A croc comes to life in LittleBigPlanet

50°
350w ago - Play. Create. Share. That's the mantra for the LittleBigPlanet team. We know that the "Play" aspect of the game is swell, but what about the creation aspects?

Media Molecule wants to make their creation engine as simple as possible, and they released a few images showing how a deadly crocodile can be constructed using just a few spare parts.

Playing with Legos was always fun, but something of this depth and magnitude has been almost unheard of -- at least for a mainstream audience.

Hopefully, we'll be able to showcase some original creations of our own when we get our hands on with LittleBigPlanet soon.
