50°
57w ago - Square-Enix Senior Product Manager Amritz Lay announced today that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII hits PS3 on February 11, 2014 with a new PS3 trailer video below!

To quote: Have you been counting down the minutes until Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII? If so, you're definitely in luck as we have a slew of updates for you.

If you've been asleep since last September when we unveiled the game, here's the gist of it: The world of Gran Pulse is sinking into the sea and what remains is Nova Chrysalia.

With only thirteen days remaining until the end of the world, you have full control of Lightning and it is your mission to save as many souls as possible.

Along the journey, you will encounter familiar faces and engage new foes in all new lands. Now that you're caught up, you're ready to watch the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII trailer - right here!

A couple things to note: First is the return of Snow Villiers, with a completely new look. He's got new hair, and equal if not more abundant amounts of swagger.

Why are Snow and Lightning at odds now? What has transpired over the time between these two former allies? Sorry, but you'll just have to wait a bit to find out these secrets.

100°
59w ago - Dakko Dakko Producer Dan Croucher has announced that the HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character hits PS Vita this week with details below.

To quote Hello there! My name is Dan Croucher, and I'm the producer here at [Register or Login to view links].

Today I'm going to talk about The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character - a brand new PS Vita remake of Dakko Dakko's very first game, The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character - originally released on PSP minis. Phew.

First up, you're the first to hear that the game has cleared certification and will be released in Europe on 29th May. It'll cost €2.99 (or local equivalent), is available across Europe and Australia/New Zealand, and as well as English, is translated into Spanish, French, German and Italian. A US version is in progress now, and will be coming soon.

As we know you're all definitely going to buy it (right?), in this post I'm going to relax and take some time to explain some of the major changes we've made from the original, and share a bit of insight into how we went about it.

Our planned changes to the game to put it on PS Vita were a mix of new features and new assets. The full list was:

• Full art and audio upgrade and replacement

NIS America Announces Mugen Souls Officially Hits PSN Tuesday

50°
60w ago - NIS America Inc's Chris King announced that Mugen Souls officially hits PSN on Tuesday with details below.

To quote: Greetings, doods! I hope you've all been well! Chris King here, dropping by to let you know that our JRPG title, Mugen Souls, is set to release on PlayStation Network on Tuesday!

I'd like to briefly go over some of the game's awesome features and mechanics for those unfamiliar with the game, and will gladly answer any questions you might have for us! Let's get started!

The story contains all the over-the-top humor and zaniness you've come to expect from NISA. You'll enter a small galaxy in the universe containing seven worlds, shimmering in seven colors... These worlds exist and act independent of one another.

This has allowed them to develop and nurture rich, unique cultures. Then one day, a decree was sent out... "I'm gonna make everything in each of these worlds bow to me!" What a bold statement!

But by whom, you ask? None other than the multiple-personality-having, naively egotistical yet strangely adorable Chou-Chou! Your goal as Chou-Chou is to conquer the universe by uniting these seven worlds, and force everything and everyone to become your loyal peons! An undisputed God at her finest!

The gameplay system...

Star Wars Pinball Standalone Hits PSN Next Week, New Features

50°
62w ago - Zen Studios Community Manager Bobby Loertscher confirmed today that Star Wars Pinball Standalone hits PSN next week with some new features detailed below.

To quote: Wait, what? Didn't Star Wars Pinball already launch on PSN? YES! And you are telling me it is launching again? YES! Okay, that was probably super confusing, so let me try to explain.

Believe me, it's a good thing. The initial Star Wars Pinball pack was released in February for Zen Pinball 2 on PS3 and PS Vita. That pack included Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and it's coming back... this time, with even more features. Cue Star Wars opening crawl text...

From the very beginning of the Star Wars Pinball project, we've been working on a special standalone version of the game that would offer some really fun community features and would be fully branded Star Wars. We managed to finish that project, and it's releasing next week, exclusively on PS3 and PS Vita!

Now you're probably wondering, "Why did I buy this for Zen Pinball 2 when I could have bought a game with different features?" Don't worry, young Padawan, we thought about that too. If you've already bought the tables in Zen Pinball 2, you are entitled to download Star Wars Pinball at no charge!

Sony Reveals Fatal Frame 2 Hits PSN Tuesday, Series Director Speaks

100°
62w ago - Fatal Frame Series Director Makoto Shibata announced today on Sony's blog that Fatal Frame 2 hits PSN Tuesday alongside some details on the video game below, as follows:

Following yesterday's restrospective on the original PS2 Classic Fatal Frame, series director Makoto Shibata returns today to talk about the development of Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly, which comes to PSN next Tuesday.

The Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly project started relatively soon after the first project concluded. Since we received lots of feedback that players got too scared to complete the game, we shifted our attention to making the storyline more interesting, to encourage such players to overcome the scariness in wanting to see the end of the story.

The storyline is based on a dream I had after the initial project concluded. Thinking back about it, I recall it being a complete dream in many ways. The dream was scary, magical and traumatic, and it had a perfect plot - even with a title and a structured ending. Thus, it was simply a case of how to interpret the dream and recreate it as a game.

In a psychic horror scenario, it is normal for ghosts and spirits to not...
