GTA IV Better on PS3 Comment Blown out of Proportion

50°
331w ago - Multiple comments and rumors are circulating around the Internet that involve people arguing about which console will have the better version of Grand Theft Auto IV.

Comments made by Adriaan on the Web site yesterday were blown way out of proportion. Both versions of the game offer an unparalleled experience. Both versions offer superior graphics. Both versions will have excellent online capabilities. After playing both versions for hours myself, I can attest to this.

The answer to the question of "Should I get the PS3 or Xbox 360 version?" can be easily answered by asking yourself this question: Which version will your friends be playing online... the people that you want to play the game with?

That's it. Answer that question and you will be able to make your decision with ease. It really is that simple.

Jack Thompson hounds Rockstar boss'... MOTHER

100°
331w ago - Jack Thompson, the anti-GTA lawyer, has fumed at the production of the "murder simulator" GTA IV in a letter sent to the MUM of Rockstar boss Strauss Zelnick.

Thompson suggested that she should be "ashamed of herself" in the letter, which has been reported on in the Metro.

"The pornography and violence that your son traffics in is the kind of stuff that most mothers would be ashamed to see their son putting into the hands of other mothers' children," he ranted.

"Maybe you, Mrs Zelnick, were so taken by your handsome son that you spared the rod and spoiled the child. That would explain why he has brought you, by the way he presently acts, to shame."

He goes on to claim that experts hold GTA and Strauss' "entrepreneurial energy", in part, responsible for a "plethora of cop killings".

It gets better: "Your son, this very moment, is doing everything he possibly can to sell as many copies of GTA IV to teen boys. If you trained up Strauss to do this, then shame on you," he said.

We'd love to have been in Mrs Zelnick's 'How to Sell a Murder Simulator' classes.

"What you will see in your son's game," he added, "if this iteration is anything like its predecessors, is incredible interactive violence aimed at police offers (whom you can shoot in...

PS3 GTA IV presales outpace 360 version down under

100°
331w ago - When Microsoft announced its multimillion deal with Rockstar for exclusive downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV, many predicted that this would provide a significant incentive for gamers to choose the Xbox 360 version of the game over the PlayStation 3 version.

But Australian presale figures seem to be telling a different story, with major retailers contacted by GameSpot AU today saying that the PS3 version was currently in the lead.

A spokeswoman for EB Games Australia--the largest specialty games retailer in the country--told GameSpot AU that the PS3 version of GTAIV was just ahead of the 360 in terms of presales. "We are happy to tell you it's neck and neck, but at the moment, PlayStation 3 is currently in the lead," EB Games Australia brand and public relations manager Debra McGrath said.

The PS3 version was even farther ahead with retailer Gametraders. The company's national marketing manager Chad Polley said, "According to the figures we have at the moment, we're [pre-]selling two PS3 versions for every one 360 unit."

Last night, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia fired back at Microsoft's DLC incentive, finally confirming rumours that there is indeed a PlayStation 3 GTAIV bundle on the way for Australia. The pack comes with a 40GB PS3, one Sixaxis controller,...

Ten Things We Can't Wait To Do In Grand Theft Auto IV

50°
331w ago - Below is a compliation of the 10 things we want to upon first loading up GTA IV. In no particular order, here goes:

Play Cops 'N Crooks Multiplayer
For the first time in the Grand Theft Auto series, we'll be able to hop on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network to compete against others in a number of activities. Do you feel like taking part in a race through the city, or perhaps you're up for a little group criminal activity? We're eager to see what options Rockstar has in store for us - it'll almost be as addictive as that World of Warcraft game, but with machine guns.

Be a Bad-ass Criminal
In the Grand Theft Auto universe, it feels good having the whole world against you. Like previous games, GTA IV will give you the option to become America's most wanted in a matter of minutes. Shoot down a police chopper, knock down a cop and steal his squad car. Just don't be surprised when they finally bring you down in epic fashion. You had it coming.

Steal Your Dream Car
In GTA IV, multiple automobiles and motorcycles will be yours for the taking. All you need to do is yank the driver from the vehicle and enjoy. It could be anything, from a luxurious sports car to the casual truck seen in this photo. It'd be even more fun if you could steal a car from a friend, only to get in a gun-toting...

GTA IV floating cars drives opinions up in the air

50°
331w ago - Unless you are living under a rock or in denial, you can't really avoid the videos or at least comments from gamers about the GTA IV videos on message boards across the net.

Well it seems a number of gamers aren't overly happy with a number of things in GTA IV. Whilst it is easy to complain about the game prior to playing it (which is a tad unfair) things like floating cars are there for all to see.

Sandbox games of this nature are known to have glitches and bugs due to their sheer size and complexity, and it appears that GTA IV is no exception. Sadly the QA team let floating cars pass, to the annoyance of a number of gamers who were expecting a more polished game.

We feel that if things like this are going to affect your enjoyment of the game, then perhaps you should find another hobby. There are many great games that have glitches, but still are enjoyable and... great!
