New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii Gets UnBoxed

246w ago - Last month we posted some gameplay trailers and screens for the New Super Mario Bros. videogame that is hitting the Nintendo Wii.

Today Vooks.net (linked above) has shared a look inside of the red New Super Mario Bros Wii case via some pictures available below.

If I owned a Wii console, this would be one title I'd be getting during the holiday season... is anyone else here planning to pick it up?

Anyway, to quote: "Yes, if you're also wondering that means we have got our copy, and we're not just going to be posting pictures of the case.

Look out for more videos of the game later tonight. The manual art we have received is also different from the US art which features a dot-art design rather then the mosaic strips of items we get."

Finally, for those curious on the story's outline: The game will follow the traditional storyline of Princess Peach getting kidnapped by Bowser. When Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad are celebrating Princess Peach's birthday in her castle, a large cake reels in.

Rumor: Killzone 3 Gets 2011 PS3 Target Date by Guerrilla Games

246w ago - Three weeks ago it was rumored that Killzone 3 is in development for Sony's PS3 console, and tentatively scheduled for release sometime during 2010.

Today, ConnectedConsoles.com (linked above) is reporting that Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek stated the title is actually being developed with a 2011 target date, but the game could be released as early as 2010.

For now, it's just more fuel on the fire for the rumormill... as there has been no official confirmation by Guerrilla Games nor Sony.

To quote: When speaking in a video interview with a Dutch TV Show recently, Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek is reported to claim "Right now, Killzone 3 for a release in 2011, is being developed. Who knows, maybe we'll see the game even as early as 2010."
 

Dragon Age: Origins Gets the Penny Arcade Treatment

255w ago - BioWare has joined forces with Gabe & Tycho, the creative artists of the popular Penny Arcade Web comic to create a new 8-part web comic based on BioWare's upcoming epic, dark fantasy Dragon Age: Origins.

To quote: The Dragon Age: Origins Web comic features an all-new Penny Arcade treatment of a dangerous encounter between a party of mage-hunting Templar knights, the reviled "Witch of the Wilds" Flemeth and her deadly, magic-wielding daughter Morrigan.

Featuring its own original storyline, this new Penny Arcade comic will give readers a dark introduction to the brutal world of Dragon Age: Origins.

Fans can view the first page of the series today at [Register or Login to view links] with a new page being revealed every week. Fans will also see an exclusive Q&A with Penny Arcade on the site as they share some of their impressions and favorite moments of Dragon Age: Origins.

Dragon Age: Origins is coming to PC and Xbox 360 in North America on November 3 and later in November for PS3.
 

PSN Gets a 3D Game - Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao

257w ago - Tomorrow Sony's PlayStation Network will receive it's first 3D game, dubbed Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao for PlayStation 3.

For those unaware, the title is a side-scrolling beat-em-up video game. To quote:

"You will need a pair of classic "red & blue" 3D glasses to see the anaglyphic 3D effects. Or, you'll need a DLP HDTV capable of stereoscopic 3D.

If you don't have a pair of 3D glasses, just go to the official Invincible Tiger [Register or Login to view links].

Although it's still listed as "coming soon", there is an option to get a free pair of 3D glasses courtesy of Publisher Namco Bandai and Developer Blitz Arcade."
 

Video: PSP Gets a DualShock 2 Controller Mod

259w ago - A French modder who goes by the name of flasheur has managed to get a DualShock 2 controller working with Sony's PSP console, allowing for more comfortable play when not on the go.

Some more good news... the modification is a completely detachable solution.

According to his post on AcidMods.com (linked above), future plans include changing the cable longer, more beautiful attractive one.
