New Sony PlayStation & PSN Games for the Week of June 10, 2014

50°
7w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN games for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Robert Hawkins is an American in quite the dangerous spot. Trapped within Nazi territory during the horrors of World War II, Hawkins must fight to survive a devastated Europe in CI Games' upcoming first-person shooter Enemy Front on PS3.

This project comes from the developer's desire to showcase the impact the war had on their own Warsaw, Poland - a location less frequently traversed in modern FPS.

But if a more family-friendly game is in order, consider How To Train Your Dragon 2, based on the upcoming animated film. Choose a Dragon Racer and sail through the skies through uncharted territories. Mysteries, adventures, and fierce tournaments await.

It's a light lineup this week due to E3 2014, so please enjoy the show - and read on for the rest of the Drop!

To quote from his blog: PS3 Game List v3.2

Another application update, bringing PS3 Game List to v3.2. Following the engine update from the previous release, this revision fixes one of the main issues that kept lingering for a long time: crashing.

Since PS3GL supports several types of media (game folders, ISO, RAR, PKG, 7Z and PSARC files, to be precise), an occasional error would crash the application and cause great annoyance. Not anymore. The app will now skip bad media and inform which ones did not load as expected. Please report back to improve media compatibility.

This release implements new requested features, like further PARAM.SFO editing, visualization of trophies from game trilogies and the support for non game PKG. Also, tossed in a couple of fixes to improve old functionality. All in all, a recommended upgrade.

Check the changelog below for all the 3.2 features. As...

Steel Wool Games: Flyhunter Origins Buzzes Onto PS Vita Soon

7w ago - Steel Wool Games Co-Founder Andrew Dayton announced today that Flyhunter Origins buzzes onto PS Vita soon with details below.

To quote: Hello, I'm Andrew Dayton, Co-Founder of Steel Wool Games. Getting the green light to make our first game doesn't seem that long ago. And now, we're living the dream and exhibiting Flyhunter Origins on PS Vita this year at E3!

Steel Wool Games was started by five animated film veterans (including myself) with a shared love for games, a desire to create something fun together and a combined 60 years of film animation experience. Sounds simple, probably makes for a good story. How hard could it be?

Well, hard... exceptionally hard in fact. But it was also an absolutely amazing experience.

We knew what we were good at and were well aware of what we lacked in experience. Being a gamer makes you no more fit to design a game than an avid movie watcher would be directing a film. Joshua (one of our other Co-Founders) had experience building game rules for his table top gaming company Zombiesmith, so we had a good grounding in game mechanics.

Building a game that we wanted to play ourselves was daunting but we were determined. We did our research, studied games of the genre and we took advantage of the experience in game craft from our...
