Might and Delight: PID on PSN Detailed: More Than a Pretty Face

50°
99w ago - Might and Delight Co-Founder Jakob Tuchten has detailed PID (Planet in Distress) on PSN today, proclaiming it is more than a pretty face!

Below is the scoop, to quote: We have been developing our first title, PID (coming soon to PSN), for nearly two years now. Like all developers, we had to decide what our focus with the game would be.

The videogame medium is unique in the respect that it borrows from many other media, such as movies, radio, and the written word. The one aspect that separates games from movies or books is their ability to interact. But there are other distinctions worth mentioning, too.

A book is conventionally about the text; a movie is the combination of sound and pictures. A game experience, however, can be crafted using a varied palette and with a more unpredictable focus.

The balance between the different media incorporated within a game differs from project to project. That is the strength of videogames as a medium - but also the challenge for consumers.

As players, we usually carry our own set of expectations and opinions regarding the balance between the games' different sides. Some people prefer titles all about the story; others would discard anything that doesn't demonstrate visual beauty.

Of course, there are players...

Video: Sound Shapes Preorder, Level Editor & Trophy Mode Detailed

50°
108w ago - Today Mathew Kumar has shared a fresh video trailer alongside preorder details for Sound Shapes complete with a Level Editor and Trophy Mode below!

To quote: Fellows! We've are absolutely gagging here to get Sound Shapes into your hands. Gagging! We wish it could be in your hands right now!

But unfortunately that can't be, as this week saw the release of The Expendables 2 as part of the PSN Play promotion, not us. However! If you're popping into PlayStation Store to pick it up at any point this week you can also pre-order Sound Shapes and get an exclusive PS3 theme.

That's not to forget PSN Play's money-saving promotion: the more games you pick up, the more money you save. So if you've already picked up The Expendables 2, you'll get a cool three bucks back if you pick up Sound Shapes.

But enough of that waffle. Because we're excited to get Sound Shapes into your hands, we wanted to kick start your imaginations by having one of our founders, Jonathan Mak, walk you through level creation using our level tools. And if you're the kind of player who is more excited to *play* than create (and that's fine, too) we're revealing our Trophy mode. And yes, there is a Platinum.

So, until this point we've been showing you lots of different parts of our...

Video: New PSN RPG Rainbow Moon's Weapon Crafting System

50°
113w ago - SideQuest Studios CEO Marcus Pukropski has detailed the Weapon Crafting System for the new PSN RPG Rainbow Moon in a video (below) today for fans.

To quote: Less than two weeks until our new RPG Rainbow Moon hits PlayStation Store!

Today, we're going to share more details with you, along with another entry from our Dev Diary video series.

Previously, we talked about Rainbow Moon's battle system and the game's character development system. Now I'm going to tell you more about all the weapons and equipment that you can acquire in Rainbow Moon, as well as how to improve them through the crafting system.

The six characters that you'll come across during your journey can be equipped with five different equipment types: weapons, hats, body armor, amulets and rings.

All these items have their own attributes, and some even have built-in passive skills or conditions. In true RPG fashion, equipping better gear will make your characters more powerful during battles.

You'll start your adventure with very basic gear – just enough to take on the game's weaker creatures. As you progress through the story, you'll be able to purchase new gear from merchants. And if you're...
