10w ago - Sony Santa Monica Studios Developer Cory Barlog announced today that God of War Collection is coming to PlayStation Vita on May 6th, 2014.

To quote: Wait, what? God of War 1 and 2 are coming to Vita? Are you frakking kidding me? YEAAAAHH!!!

All of the work in my career is an important part of making me who I am but the first two 'God of War' games were truly the catalysts for a creative A-Bomb... and no small amount of F-Bomb's too.

'God of War' 1 and 2 changed the course of my career forever and nothing could please me more than to see them getting released on the Vita. We did some amazing work with the controls, seamless integration of an epic story into a load-free experience, and now that can be taken with you ANYWHERE!!

While I did not have a direct involvement in the actual process of bringing the epic-ness to the Vita I still feel an amazing connection to the release of these games, and a huge amount of respect for the wizards who made it possible.

I would not be writing this if it weren't for those two blood-soaked PS2 discs. Well, that's not true, I would be writing this but it would be with a well-worn crayon on the padded walls of a comfy cell in one of California fine institutions for the creatively insane, and the only person who would read...

To quote: Hi PlayStation fans, we have some exciting news to share with you today! The popular creature hunting franchise, Invizimals, is returning to PlayStation this year in the Americas.

The franchise began as a series of innovative PSP titles in which players hunted down and battled elusive Invizimals using the PSP camera. Today, we're happy to confirm that Invizimals: The Alliance and Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom will be coming to PS Vita and PS3 (respectively) later this year.

Invizimals: The Alliance is the next step in the evolution from the PSP games to the PS Vita. Players will hunt, capture, and battle creatures in order to save the Invizimals from the evil Xtractor Industries robots which have invaded their world.

No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either is Coming Soon to PS Vita

10w ago - Sony International Software Development Manager Tomoyo Kimura announced today that No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either is coming soon to PS Vita.

To quote: Hi everyone! We are happy to announce that the No Heroes Allowed series is making its return in Spring 2014 as a free-to-play hunting puzzle game for PS Vita!

This is the fifth entry in the series, and we call it No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either! Just as the name suggests, the humor (and 8 bit art) that the series is known for is back and better than ever.

Who said it was easy to be a bad guy?

As a "God of Destruction," you must use your evil power of destruction to defeat more than 200 quirky looking heroes in 64 levels of match-three puzzles. As you conquer levels and capture heroes, the heroes are banished to your dungeon, where they work for you to dig up valuable items in the mines that can be used as power ups during subsequent levels.

Also, don't forget to enter the "Badman's Lair" where you can use your evil genius to combine your choice of monsters, heroes and items already found through the game to create an even more powerful army.

Look out for more details soon, and stay evil!

Orangepixel Games Coming to PS Vita, Starting with Gunslugs

10w ago - Orangepixel's Pascal Bestebroer announced today that their videogames are coming to PS Vita starting with Gunslugs.

Below are the details, to quote: I'm Pascal Bestebroer, the indie developer known as Orangepixel.

I've been developing games since 2004, which have appeared on older mobile platforms like J2ME, as well as newer ones like Android and iOS. That said, it's likely you don't know Orangepixel... yet!

With the help of the guys at Abstraction games, I hope to change that and make my games more known to new audiences, starting with PlayStation gamers. So, Gunslugs will be the first of the Orangepixel titles to hopefully land a spot on your PS Vita this month!

As I mentioned above, I've been creating games since 2004, and all the Orangepixel games have a few key elements in common:

First, they feel, look and sound "retro." This is a very commonly used term these days, but don't judge the games because they looks retro - I also try to imbue my games with newer tricks, gameplay concepts and even some triple-A ideas, bringing old-school style games to a more modern audience.

The final element that all Orangepixel games share, is that they are hard. Not brutal, and...

Video: Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments Coming to PS3, PS4

11w ago - Frogwares' Olga Ryzhko announced today that Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is coming to PS3 and PS4 platforms with both details and video footage below.

To quote: This is Olga from Frogwares, and I get to tell you about our latest game, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments.

We've been developing Sherlock Holmes games for over a decade now, and the recent reinventions of Sherlock Holmes in the new movies and series have put a spin on the character and the world he lives in.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments is a detective game; it needs you to think. The game focuses heavily on investigation, and with an emphasis on narration, too.

There's a lot of exploration and clue collecting, speaking to witnesses and suspects, and - the most important aspect - bringing all of these together to make your own deductions and bring the culprits to justice... or setting them free.

With this new Sherlock Holmes game, we really wanted to involve the player to a degree that they've never experienced before, both emotionally and intellectually.

In Crimes & Punishments, your brain will be, once more, put to the test. This time we're offering...
