201w ago - Square Enix Brand Manager Rob Rutter has made available a TGS video trailer today showcasing the upcoming PSP Action RPG title The 3rd Birthday.

To quote: The 3rd Birthday is our upcoming PSP Action RPG title featuring the return of Aya Brea, heroine of the Parasite Eve series.

If you've not heard about it before, check out the latest trailer below which reveals more about the storyline and the Overdive system.

This trailer was shown behind closed doors at Tokyo Game Show, but here it is newly released in English.

UKIE Welcomes Sony's Action Against PS3 JailBreak ModChips

207w ago - Over the weekend more legal documents surfaced as part of an ongoing effort to extinguish the PS3 JailBreak, and today Examiner.com (linked above) reports that video games and interactive entertainment trade body UKIE welcomes Sony's swift action against PS3 JailBreak modchips.

To quote: SCEE reacted quickly to its becoming available, writing to the companies that advertised and stocked the Break device and advising them to desist in selling the illegal product.

Most companies that were contacted complied immediately and ceased to stock and to sell the product. Court orders were swiftly obtained against those companies that continued to sell the product and they have now also stopped selling the PS3 Break modchips.

UKIE's Director General, Michael Rawlinson, said, "Having our member, SCEE, respond so quickly to prevent the sale of illegal PS3 modification chips shows the commitment that the video games and interactive entertainment industry has to stamping out intellectual property theft.

Intellectual property theft is a hugely damaging crime both to the individuals whose creativity is stolen and to the businesses that make up Britain's video games and interactive...

Sony Takes Legal Action Against Swedish PS JailBreak Sellers

210w ago - According to the PS3 JailBreak Info Centre (linked above) via Swedish site [Register or Login to view links], Sony has now taken legal action against Swedish PS JailBreak sellers.

This news comes as no surprise after Sony won an injunction against Australian resellers and subsequently filed suit against a US reseller.

To quote: "Sony's lawyers have sued Manzzon, Rejoy and WeChip and those stores has now removed the product from their shops.

When checking the list of Authorized Dealers on PSJailbreak.com, you can now see that only 16 of the 26 listed shops actually sell the product."
 

Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Sony for PS3 3.21 Update

229w ago - Update #4: Forum user phoenixfire425 has posted a response he received from his attorney stating that the Class Action Law Suit has finally been approved in regards to the PS3's OtherOS removal.

Update #3: [Register or Login to view links] now reports of a [Register or Login to view links] (PDF) from Keith Wright of San Diego for removing the "Other OS" feature from the PlayStation 3, a [Register or Login to view links] (PDF) which demands a jury trial, a [Register or Login to view links] (PDF) which includes user comments from the US and EU Playstation Blog, IGN, ArsTechnica and Facebook, and even a [Register or Login to view links] from Michael Trebilcock of Australia.
