3w ago - Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developer aldostools updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.60B-1 followed by some unofficial updates with the changes outlined below.
8w ago - Guerilla Cambridge Tech Director Matt Porter announced today that Killzone: Mercenary for PlayStation Vita is updated today!
To quote: Hi, everyone. We're very pleased to announce the launch of the second update for Killzone: Mercenary.
Firstly, we need to start off with the bad news. You'll see that the patch size is similar to that of the previous patch, and you'll need a spare 1190MB in order to download it.
When this new patch installs, the first patch will essentially be deleted, but you will need the extra space initially. This download is necessary in order to pave the way for future planned revisions to the game.
We're currently investigating solutions to reduce the overall size of the title and free up more of your valuable memory card space. We hope to be able to share more news on that work very soon. However, it seems unlikely to us that the overall size of the downloaded game, plus the patch, will ever be under 4GB.
The main focus for the second patch has been in targeting some of the connectivity issues that have been experienced over the last month. We're hoping that many of you who were previously unable to connect into the community will now be able to enjoy Killzone: Mercenary to its fullest.
9w ago - Sony Producer Kumi Yuasa announced that Soul Sacrifice is updated today complete with 16 new quests.
To quote: Hello PlayStation gamers! We've been releasing free updates for Soul Sacrifice for the past five months. It's bittersweet for us to share that today's big 1.30 update, which adds 16 challenging new quests, will be the final one. Make sure you update your game to version 1.30 today!
Unlike some of the previous updates, there's no need to download unlock keys from PlayStation Store to start playing the 16 new quests.
After installing the update, simply go to Read Journal > Mad Chronicle > Inside Avalon > Avalon Pacts > Forgotten Pacts to play the new quests. You'll see "Hour of Pure White" and "Hour of Blackness" added to the section. Game progress to a certain point may be required.
The final 16 quests are all difficulty level 10! You'll be tasked with facing challenging boss characters you may have come across before. Will you be up for the thrilling rematches, or will they get the best of you?
Thank you all for your support on Soul Sacrifice over the past several months. We hope you'll enjoy the final quests and continue to enjoy the world of Soul Sacrifice on PS Vita!
11w ago - Sparpweed Creative Director Richard Boeser announced today alongside a video that Ibb and Obb on PSN has been updated complete with enhanced features and performance.
To quote: It's been about a month since we launched Ibb & Obb, our two-player, cooperative puzzle platformer.
Since the launch, we've been working on a patch to fix some bugs that players found, but also to add some features based on the feedback we got.
The most requested feature was to have indicators showing where players are when they fly off screen. Those are now in, along with d-pad support for those of you who prefer that to the analog stick. Also, we managed to improve general performance quite a bit - now everything runs at 60 FPS in full HD, with anti aliasing on.
For us, some of the most interesting things of the last month are the Let's Play videos that pop up. Often made by players that dive into the game without having played it before or knowing much about it. From a game designer point of view these videos are extremely useful.
We've seen a lot of people play during development, but it's different when players know the game is still unfinished or when they can ask you questions directly. The Let's Play videos feel more real. They show the published product and are often recorded...
19w ago - Media Molecule Creative Lead developer Rex Crowle shared a video today announcing that the Tearaway release date is updated for the PlayStation Vita platform.
To quote: Here at Media Molecule we love to make new things on new platforms.
To us, making games is a real labor of love. Our very blood, sweat and tears are poured into every pixel, every line of code, every note in every song, and every little post it note we use to plan our lives.
Tearaway is our first handheld game, set in a totally new world, with characters on a new adventure.
Throughout development we have constantly explored all the ways we could think of to create the most fun and enjoyable experiences possible on PS Vita, whilst also learning how to make a 3D creative platformer! We are really proud of the work we are doing, and are really excited to share it with you!
We are now in the final stages of development, and have come to the realisation that we need a little more time than we anticipated to finish the game; to tie all of the mechanics, story and amazing visuals together into the adventure that we want you to play. To give us that time, we've decided to move the release date by one month, from mid-October, to November 22nd.
