11 Bit Studios Announces Anomaly 2 Launches on PS4 Tuesday

50°
1w ago - 11 Bit Studios Senior Writer Pawel Miechowski announced today that Anomaly 2 launches on PS4 this Tuesday with details below.

To quote: Hello Gamers! It's Pawel Miechowski from 11 bit studios here. It took a bit longer than expected, but Anomaly 2 is ready to land on the next-gen beauty PlayStation 4! First things first: you'll be able to get your hands on it on September 16th for $14.99 on PlayStation Store.

So, let's recap. Anomaly 2 is the opposite of tower defense - it's been actually called tower offense! Tower offense in Anomaly 2 means it's a mixture of action and strategy. You control not the towers (aliens invading Earth) but the attackers: human forces who are trying to save the planet.

Anomaly 2′s story continues right after the 2018 invasion of Earth that took place in Anomaly Warzone Earth. Our planet is controlled by the aliens and humankind is almost extinct.

Those who managed to survive are grouped in convoys. Your convoy is called Yukon, and you are the Commander, dropped right into the battlefield to support troops in your convoy through four special abilities which you'll deploy during missions.

The first ability available to you is Repair, which is basically an Area of Effect healing skill. Next we have Decoy - an ability that baits...

Video: Sniper Elite 3 Hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 Tuesday

50°
13w ago - Rebellion Head of Creative Tim Jones announced today alongside a video that Sniper Elite 3 hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday.

To quote: We're really excited to get Sniper Elite 3 out there on PS4 and PS3 next week. It's the sniper game the fans really wanted, and we're glad that we have been able to deliver.

Right after Sniper Elite V2 we asked the fans what they thought about that game - the good bits, the bad bits, and what needed to happen in Sniper Elite 3.

The DLC development on Sniper Elite V2 really paved the way for SE3, as it allowed us to R&D the expansive environments that were to become the core of Sniper Elite 3. We really wanted to offer true choice to the player, a non-linear experience that allowed you to tackle objectives in the order and way you saw fit.

We know a lot of fans were frustrated that stealth was really hard in Sniper Elite V2 - it was very easy to get detected, and very hard to know if the enemy could see you or not. That's all changed in Sniper Elite 3 - you really can go loud or be quiet as you choose.

Of course, a good sniper is as quiet as possible, but if you need or want to go loud we've also added a 'relocate' mechanic - after all,...

Blue Estate Out Tuesday on PS4, Free Demo and PS Plus Discount

50°
13w ago - Blue Estate Comic Books Author Viktor Kalvachev announced that Blue Estate is out Tuesday on PS4 alongside a free demo and PS Plus discount details below.

To quote: Hi, I'm Viktor Kalvachev, the creator of Blue Estate, and today I'd like to introduce you to Tony Luciano, one of the two characters you can play in our brand new arcade shooter.

Life isn't always easy for the only son of the Boss of the West Coast Mob. Your dad says things like "Your mother still cries herself to sleep every night for giving birth to such an imbecile." Tony grew up an angry kid and became a vicious killer, whose diplomacy skills begin and end with a .357 Desert Eagle.

Blue Estate is out next week with a free demo available for all PS4 players. And for as low as $19.99 with an additional 20% off for PS+ members, it just doesn't get any better.

Play the demo alone or with a friend in co-op mode, enjoy some good old light gun arcade action, and spread the word. Once you've mastered the game, you can up the next difficulty level and test your skills.

Sony Announces Transistor Out Tuesday, Recursion Mode Revealed

50°
19w ago - Supergiant Games Creative Director Greg Kasavin announced today via Sony's blog that Transistor for PS4 is out Tuesday alongside Recursion Mode details below.

To quote: Transistor is less than a week away! Things are eerily calm for us at [Register or Login to view links] as we await the moment when our new game becomes available worldwide, at which point we'll find out at long last what everybody really thinks!

It's been immensely gratifying to have worked on something that so many folks are excited about. Though, knowing full well just how little of the game we've shown, I'm eager to see the response to all the many aspects of the game we've purposely kept secret.

I'd like to talk about one of those aspects here, but first! Let me tell you why we've opted to keep so quiet through most of Transistor's development.

"The less you know about Transistor, the more likely it is to surprise you."

We could have shown more. Since you're reading this on PlayStation.Blog, I'd bet you're pretty up to date on what's happening in games in general. You know the typical PR cycle for a big game involves tons of trailers, previews, press releases, and so on, and maybe eventually a round or two of hands-on impressions before the game is finally released....
