Just One More Minute: Taking to the Skies in Luftrausers Details

50°
79w ago - Vlambeer's Rami Ismail announced today that fans can take to the skies in Luftrausers with details below, as follows:

LUFTRAUSERS is a short game. To be precise, it takes about thirty seconds. We're not talking in terms of hours you need to complete the campaign, although you technically could beat it within two minutes.

We're not even talking about how many hours you'll be playing the game in total. What we're talking about is the amount of time a single round of LUFTRAUSERS is going to take you.

When you boot the game for the first time on your PlayStation 3 or PS Vita, you'll see the logos of Vlambeer and Devolver Digital - as you'd expect. There'll be a short introductory cutscene, as a lone dot appears on enemy radar. A submarine rises from the water.

The structure of the game is really simple. You start out with the original LUFTRAUSER, the most powerful airplane ever built. It is launched perfectly vertical from a submarine that only submerges for the shortest of moments to allow you to establish yourself as the nightmare of the many enemies surrounding you.

A game of LUFTRAUSERS is essentially you trying to survive against increasing odds. While at first you might engage only basic fighter planes, it'll take an average player just moments to lure...

Codemasters on Taking the Race Online with GRID 2's Multiplayer

50°
85w ago - Codemasters Ben Walke shared details today on taking the race online with GRID 2's multiplayer.

To quote: We've talked previously about World Series Racing and the single player experience of GRID 2 - now it's time to talk multiplayer.

Multiplayer in GRID 2 is big. Bigger than anything we've done before. More depth, more choice, more progression... but before we get to the BIG details, we'll just chuck in a little reminder that you can play in two-player split-screen across our game modes. It's old school, and we love it.

GRID 2 utilizes a multiplayer system that is completely separate to the single player portion of the game. We want to bring the best of online gaming to the racing genre and a dedicated, distinct game is the only way we could achieve what we wanted.

As you progress you'll be able to earn XP and cash, which will allow you to purchase cars and upgrades, and you'll constantly have new challenges and rivals.

You'll also be able to showcase your individuality by customising and modifying your cars. With over six billion possible combinations to choose from, you'll certainly stand out on the grid.

The Clean vs. The Dirty

Naturally these two types of racers don't get on very well, it's the Cats vs. Dogs of the racing...

God of War: Ascension PS3 Q&A: Taking Kratos to the Next Level

50°
90w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has shared a God of War: Ascension PS3 Q & A update below today which takes Kratos to the next level.

To quote: With God of War: Ascension's launch just a few days away now, we sat down with the game's Lead Combat Designer Jason McDonald and Lead Game Designer Mark Simon to find out how they've kept the formula fresh six games into the series, and what challenges the addition of multiplayer presented to the team.

We'll have more insight from Game Director Todd Papy next week before Santa Monica's lean, mean new actioner hits the shelves on March 12th. In the meantime, over to Mark and Jason...

PlayStation.Blog: How difficult is it retro-fitting a prequel story onto the existing God of War trilogy?

Mark Simon: It's kinda nice actually. At the end of God of War 3 Kratos is completely rage-filled. His sole-focus has been figured out. With Ascension, we can go back to a different time period before he was this character.

He has a wider range and you can explain things about him that you didn't know before. You get to find out what turned him into the guy that he is - what makes him snap, and why is it that breaking a bond with a god like Ares does this.

PSB: If I was to plot Kratos' anger on a graph,...

Around 50 LBP Levels taking about 12 Hours to Complete Estimated

50°
325w ago - Producer Pete Smith has confirmed LittleBigPlanet will feature around 50 levels on the disc. The game will feature an interlinking story so it will not just be a random selection of levels, although the first half of the game is just a big tutorial which introduces you to all the gameplay mechanics of the game.

Apparently, it can be completed in as little as 12 hours...

To quote:

How many levels will be on the disc?

Around 50-ish. There'll be an interlinking story, too, so it's not just a random selection of levels. About the first half of the game is one long tutorial, introducing you to all the gameplay mechanics in the game.

Will there be any levels that require the Create mode to get to the end?

No, not to beat the level. Though there are levels where using the create mode will allow you to access hidden areas. The Create mode will have its own set of tutorials to get you used to it.
