Indie Horror Game Home Hits PS4 October 28th, PS Vita Soon After

350°
5w ago - Benjamin Rivers Inc Director Benjamin Rivers confirmed today that Indie horror game Home hits PS4 on October 28th, 2014 with a PS Vita version to follow soon after.

To quote: It was announced that the horror game Home was coming to PlayStation this year, and I am very excited to say that the PS4 version of the game will be launching October 28th - just in time for Halloween!

This horror adventure is a player-driven story that responds to your choices; taking cues from adventure games as well as side-scrollers, what happens in Home is entirely up to the player.

As you make choices and even explore, the game changes in subtle ways to reflect your adventure. I like to think of it as the kind of game you'll immediately want to talk about with other players as soon as you finish it, just to compare notes.

The Vita version will follow very soon after - I honestly just couldn't wait to get the PS4 version into players' sweaty hands. But Vita owners, fear not: Home supports cross buy, so you'll get both versions of the game for the same price anyway, even if you get the PS4 version!

The only one who'll be more scared is my accountant; for the first two weeks I'm having a launch sale, so both versions of Home together will be available for the so-spooky-it-can't-be-real...

SingStar on PS4 and PS3: Out Soon, New Features Detailed

100°
6w ago - Sony Producer Jenny Murphy announced today that SingStar will be out on PS4 and PS3 soon with new features detailed below.

To quote: The brand new SingStar will be released on PS4 and PS3 in less than two weeks' time, and we're very excited to get it in to all SingStar players' hands!

Not only have we given the game an awesome interface overhaul, there are also tons of cool new features that I want to tell you about in a bit more detail.

No mic? No problem. The free SingStar Mic app can turn your smart device into a microphone. Simply download the app on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPod Touch , connect it to the same wifi network as your PS3 or PS4, and get going instantly.

To get all your friends at the party involved and have a go at winning (or failing miserably!), we've added a playlist creator to the SingStar Mic app so they can line up an ongoing list of songs while the singers are entertaining the room.

Pick any of the songs available on the PlayStation system you're connected to and just cue them up. Basically, no more waiting on the indecisive people in the room to decide if they want to sing No Doubt's Don't Speak or John Lennon's Imagine.

Got a competitive streak and want to beat down your PSN friends? Once you've finished your performance,...

Curve Studios Announces Thomas Was Alone Coming Soon to PS4

100°
10w ago - Curve Studios PR and Marketing Manager Rob Clarke announced today that Thomas Was Alone is coming soon to PS4 with details below.

To quote: Here at Curve we've had the pleasure of bringing a variety of games to PlayStation in the last two years, made by a great mix of different indie developers.

Thomas Was Alone was the very first of those games, and its ubiquitous creator Mike Bithell was the first indie developer who we got in touch with. A lifelong PlayStation fan, Mike was genuinely excited by the idea of having the game appear on PS3 and PS Vita, and we had a great time creating that version.

With that in mind, we're now happy to announce that we're bringing Thomas Was Alone to PS4, and it will be available to everyone as a cross buy title. That means if you picked up Thomas on PS3 or PS Vita at any point last year, you'll be able to grab the game completely free on PS4.

If you missed Thomas Was Alone the first time around, the PS4 version will give you a chance to play one of the most popular independent games ever made.

A game about rectangles and friendship, Thomas Was Alone's graphics may be minimalist, but its gameplay is engaging, and the story it tells is quite unlike anything else in gaming. It also has the added bonus of being narrated from start...

Feel the Beat in Jungle Rumble, Swinging Soon to PlayStation Vita

50°
11w ago - Disco Pixel's Trevor Stricker invites PS Vita fans to feel the beat today in Jungle Rumble, which will be swinging soon to PlayStation Vita.

To quote: We are stoked to announce that our rhythm game sensation, Jungle Rumble: Freedom, Happiness, and Bananas is coming to PS Vita very soon! We are adding more monkeys, more beats, and more bedlam. This is bananas!

What's Jungle Rumble? The player drums to control a tribe of monkeys. A rival tribe invades to steal bananas. The player sends monkey minions into the fray by drumming on the screen. It's the world's craziest rhythm game.

Using the PS Vita's touch screen to tap along to the beat of the jungle, players drum on monkeys and then drum on trees to have their simian soldiers swing through the trees. Drum on coconuts and then drum on enemies to throw those coconuts with rhythmic flair.

The player jaunts through the jungle with a rhythmic grammar. Unlike a traditional rhythm game there is no script to follow-in Jungle Rumble drumming controls the game.

As the game evolves, the questions pile up. Why would that tribe invade and shatter the peace in the jungle? What would cause them to risk war?

Jungle Rumble features a dynamic soundtrack - as more and more monkeys team up, the music swells with intensity....
