Sony Announces Wander: A Non-combat MMO Coming to PS4

100°
1w ago - Writer & Character Designer Crystal Flinn announced today that a non-combat MMO is coming to PS4 called Wander with details below.

To quote: Hello, everyone! This is Crystal from Wander, here to tell you a little bit about ourselves and what we're doing way down here on the bottom of the Earth (AKA Australia).

Wander is the brainchild of Melbourne resident Loki Davison, who noticed a shocking absence of games that didn't primarily focus on violence in order to tell a story, and decided there was a niche that desperately needed to be filled.

That - coupled with a slight preoccupation with flight, travelling, and music - led to the conception of Wander, an MMO game that lets you explore a majestic environment in several different forms - a giant tree, a soaring griffin, a sea creature and more.

"I was somewhat of a nomad for a long time. I wandered around Central Asia, Siberia, the Arctic and Himalayas. Growing up I played a lot of MUDs (text based MMO games) and wanted to make a game that was atmospheric, relaxing and multiplayer. Wander draws on a lot of that experience. I wanted to collaboratively explore in a game." - Loki

You start off deep in a forest you can't remember, occupying a form you don't recognize. Clues can be found by examining your surroundings,...

Sony Goes Hands on with Guilty Gear Xrd Sign on PlayStation 4

50°
2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements went hands on today with Guilty Gear Xrd Sign on PlayStation 4.

Below are the details, to quote: Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- for PS4 feels like high school. And that, surprisingly, is high praise.

I obsessed over Guilty Gear X when it launched on PS2. My friends and I picked apart every fighter on the roster, experimented with particular match-ups, rocked out to the soundtrack for hours, and even developed inside jokes based on the fighter intro quips.

And with Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, the team at ARC System Works is plugging a high-voltage generator into the series and flipping the switch with a smirk.

The latest Guilty Gear, which hits PS4 and PS3 on December 16th, embraces everything about the series' roots while reworking every visual component on screen. Even after spending time with an early build of the PS4 version, Xrd -Sign- is a flood of great memories.

If you're new to the series, Guilty Gear is a highly stylized 2D fighter with one of the most eccentric rosters to ever grace a fighting game. Do you want a charming vampire boxer? How about a pirate girl with dolphins for weapons?

Or perhaps a tall, repenting surgeon with a bag over his head and a giant scalpel in hand? Yes, series favorites like...

Sony Invites Fans to Enter the Impossible World of Relativity on PS4

250°
2w ago - Developer and Designer Willy Chyr invites fans to enter the impossible world of Relativity on PS4 today with details below.

To quote: Hello! My name is Willy Chyr - I'm an artist and indie game developer based in Chicago. I'm happy to announce that my game Relativity will be coming to PS4 in 2015, and you will get to try it at PlayStation Experience next month in Las Vegas!

Relativity is a game that re-imagines the laws of the universe. What if the normal rules of gravity no longer applied? The basic mechanic of the game is the ability to change gravity, allowing you to re-orient yourself to walk on walls and ceilings. In this world, up is down and down is up. It's all relative.

Let's take a look at what an early puzzle in the game is like. In the gif below, we need to get the purple block to stay on the purple square in order to unlock a door, but the block keeps sliding down. The solution: we lock the blue block in place while in the blue gravity, and then use it as a shelf to hold up the purple block.

What you just saw is the basic gameplay mechanic. But Relativity is more than just about stacking cubes - there is an entire world full of wonder and impossible...
