To quote (via Wololo): You might remember the psp2ps3 tools, and all the excitement a few weeks ago around a recent hack breakthrough that allows people to run psp isos (and, potentially, homebrews) on a hacked PS3, by “camouflaging” the game inside a PSP Mini.
Although people believed this trick was reserved to PS3s running a Custom Firmware, this might become an incorrect statement very soon…
I was contacted by scene member CapetLeVrai who apparently found a way to run those PSP ISOs on a non hacked PS3 running the latest official firmware 4.41.
The current technique will probably not blow your mind for now, as it requires you to own both a hacked and a non hacked PS3, but it could open huge opportunities in the near future if the right people decide to look into that. The basic idea is that after...
34w ago - Today the Red Power Team have made available a demo video below of what appears to be the first legitimate PS3 4.21 CFW running Dead or Alive 5 (DOA5) for Custom Firmware users!

36w ago - Below is a demo video from wololo (via The Z from German site PSPKing.de) of a developer running PSP ISOs using a PSP ISO Loader on the PlayStation Vita handheld console.
To quote: "You might remember the hacker whom I nicknamed “Tony”, who was able to run PS1 games and psp isos with a CFW on a PS Vita. Or you might remember Davee’s HEN running on a PS Vita back in march. You might also remember that I mentioned that several groups are now in possession of a PSP kernel exploit on the Vita.
Well it seems today that a beta tester for one of these groups was not completely careful, and leaked a video showing him running psp isos on a Vita (video below).
The video shows the tester (who is possibly Chinese) running isos for Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker and Shining Blade through a (PSP) kernel exploit.
I have been told that the initial video has since then been removed which is why I’m thinking of a beta-tester mistake, but that was probably too late and the video got copied to other networks such as youtube.
What I can tell you right now is that this video is legit, and that...
37w ago - Following up on the UVLoader Usermode PS Vita Loader development news, this weekend wololo has officially unveiled a video of VHBL for PS Vita 1.80 running on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite below!
To quote from his blog: I forgot to upload the “proof of concept” video this morning when I announced Neur0n’s exploit for Monster Hunter, so there you go.
In this video, we are running the exploit (which is done by going to the “Download” section of the game), I then go to the “savegame” section of the memory stick in order to install some homebrews: Wagic and CSPSP.
Wagic seems particularly long to install, but this is because its resource file is a single 40MB file which takes a little while to extract an copy. You can then see me play both Wagic and CSPSP on the PS Vita through the exploit.
The Files are coming soon
Update: VHBL r160 for Vita 1.80 is now released (via wololo.net/2012/09/11/release-vhbl-r160-for-vita-1-80/) as follows:
A few days ago we announced the name of the game that is being used for Neur0n’s...
