2d ago - Following up on the PS3 Game (Rip-to-iSO) Mass Converter application, today PlayStation 3 developer mcscruff has made available a GenPS3 Mass iSO GUI for PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW) users with details below followed by a PS3 ISO TOOLS pack by Rudi Rastelli.
To quote: Hi all, I have made a quick front end for genps3iso that lets you Que up your folders with or without IRD's (NO VERSION 9 SUPPORT) and makes the iso's.
WHY MAKE THIS SHT APP!?
Bored mostly but i had 3 games i wanted to make and i also wanted to go to the pub..., my drinking habit had to be put on hold for 10 minutes while i set it up, let it finish then set up the next.. where as i could have gone out and let it run..
There is bugs in there but it does work (a bit) , if you like it but want extra things in it just ask.
Tested on Windows 7
Just put the GenPS3-Mass.exe in the same directory as genps3iso. Thanks to the cobra team for their tool that does all the work.
5d ago - Following up on the previous updates, today PlayStation 3 developer brunolee has released a PS3 XMB Mod Manager and updates which allow CFW users to install webMAN by deank, coldboots, gameboots, XMB waves, and more with details below.
2w ago - Today Kotaku (via Digital Foundry) shared a video demo on running PlayStation 4 / PS4 games (with latency) through XBox One's HDMI input with details below.
To quote: You Can Play PS4 Through Xbox One, But You Probably Wouldn't Want To.
What happens when you plug a PlayStation 4's HDMI cable into the back of an Xbox One? The same thing that happens to everything else.
The fine folks at DigitalFoundry plugged their PlayStation 4 into the Xbox One's HDMI input and - contrary to my fevered speculation - a singularity was not formed. Instead, they got the PS4 video in their Xbox One dashboard.
From there they could navigate PlayStation menus, fiddle about with settings, or even launch a game, though lag issues make it a less-than-ideal means of doing so.
Either way, it's lovely to see the two of them getting along so well.
3w ago - XGen Studios CEO and Founder Skye Boyes confirmed that Super Motherload PS4 is officially out today on PlayStation 4.
To quote: With the launch of Super Motherload and PS4 today, we count ourselves lucky to be among the small number of indie games available at launch, helping to make good on Sony's promise to support innovation from small teams.
What we don't push in polygons, we hope to make up in truly social gameplay experiences that keep drawing you back. For the next puzzle, the next Special Upgrade, and of course your next grudge-match against pals.
One unique PS4 feature we didn't have space to mention in our last post is Super Motherload's use of the Activity Feed. As certain events unfold in Super Motherload, such as the untimely and permanent death of your hard-won upgraded character at the hands of fuel depletion in Hardcore mode, the activity feed will broadcast notification of your controller-hurtling rage to your friends on PSN. Other, more celebratory activity feed posts include the acquisition of Special Abilities and Character Unlocks.
There has also been quite a bit of interest in the soundtrack for Super Motherload since our last post. We're pleased to announce that we've decided to stream the entire soundtrack on YouTube for free (with digital download...
6w ago - Frogwares Olga Ryzhko shared a video today announcing that Magrunner: Dark Pulse is out today on PlayStation 3 with details below.
To quote: Magrunner: Dark Pulse is out today on PS3! At Frogwares, we consider ourselves to be quite experienced in puzzles and riddles; mainly due to 13 years of experience making Sherlock Holmes games. Some of you may have even played our latest one, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes on PS3.
However, we wanted to work on something that would expand on the games and puzzles we normally offer. We wanted to go further and explore some really dynamic puzzles, which is not really possible with the Sherlock Holmes games. Sherlock is quite the gentleman - he doesn't even run! And this is where Magrunner, a first-person puzzler, comes in.
Magrunner is based on reasoning, logic, and thinking. You'll be shooting things - you won't be gunning down nameless hordes of enemies, soldiers or zombies, but this is where the action part of the game pops in. This is our attempt to find the delicate balance between fun and challenge, between thinking and reacting.
Magrunner: Dark Pulse is an action-driven puzzle game that combines cosmic horror with a near-future cyberpunk world on the edge...
