12w ago - Following up on his previous PS4 Development Kit (DUH-D1000AA) and PS4 Testing Kit (DUH-T1000AA) leak, PlayStation 4 developer NetYaroze (via facebook.com/www.scedev.net) has recently made available some new PS4 SDK v1.0 and PS Vita Development Kit (PDEL-1001) / PS Vita Testing Kit (PTEL-1001) screenshots with hints that developers can extend (patch) the activation time on both consoles.

To quote: LOL... I never seen PS Vita Testing Kit! but think you may sell this unit for MIN. price Euro 400 EUR. ($ 500/600 USD) for Collectable Price.

F*ck the activation... can be patched! and I know people what do that. hahaha... yeah, that's what I was talking about!

LOL, same thing here! and can be done also on PS4 TEST Kit (Note: is not my picture, friend who worked on that sent me this one)

Btw, finally someone has realized that people need to work on these activation keys if need to do something with the New Generation DEV/Test kits! Note: Can be patched for a lifetime use.

This is just screenshots of them.

It's the Dev Kit OS, which is either unlocked on a regular console, or installed onto a regular console with this firmware.

To quote: Since taking over as stewards of the Spider-Man console gaming franchise, we've seized the opportunity to explore new territory with each game release.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on PS3 and PS4 created a great opportunity to build and improve on something rather than starting from a blank slate. The gameplay walkthrough we've prepared for you today shows off some of the ways we've gone about doing that, but I'd also like to briefly flesh out some of those details with a little more context.

The new mechanics of web-swinging are more than just a visual tick, and that's why we often start off pointing them out. Controlling separate sides of Spider-Man with separate sides of your brain has a great psychological effect, and it really immerses you even deeper into your character, particularly when you have to decide to use the right or left trigger based on the physical location of buildings as you swing through the city.

41w ago - Many are aware Sony's PlayStation 4 video gaming console uses FreeBSD Open Source Software as outlined on Sony's site [Register or Login to view links], and today Software Engineer Don Olmstead briefly discusses WebGL / HTML5 and the PS4 while PS3 hacker kakarotoks confirms PS4 is running Webkit alongside preliminary PS4 Save Encryption from flynhigh09 as detailed below.

From Don Olmstead, to quote: "Now that the #PS4 has been released I can finally start talking about my piece of the puzzle.

When you login to your PS4 you are running #WebGL code. The PlayStation Store, the Music and Video Applications, as well as a good chunk of UX are all rendered within the browser.

I spent a good amount of time tuning our WebGL rendering engine, and I will be speaking at +SFHTML5 about how to optimize WebGL usage within the context of that work. There will be plenty of great tips on how you can speed up your own WebGL applications so get your slot now. And for those of you can't make it in person it will be live streamed on Google Developers Live."

49w ago - Following up on the PS4 Dev Kit FCC filing and Sony DUH-D1000AA pictures, today YouTube user Wasif Akhtar managed to catch the PlayStation 4 DevKit UI (User Interface) on video at this year's Eurogamer Expo.

To quote: PS4 Interface at Eurogamer Expo - A quick video of the PS4 interface that I managed to capture at Eurogamer Expo 2013. I think it's the interface for the Dev Kits only though.
