Video: 6 Moments from Far Cry 4's Open World on PlayStation 4

4w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements shared a PS4 video today showcasing 6 moments from Far Cry 4's open world on PlayStation 4 below.

To quote: Let loose in Kyrat, I was immediately overwhelmed by the volume of play built into this open world space.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, [Register or Login to view links] invites players back into a first-person exploration of quiet villages, dangerous tyranny, and majestic views. It's packed with emergent missions that can hook players into gunfights and high-speed chases. It has laughs and bitter choices.

Far Cry 4 tells the story of Ajay Ghale, a native of Kyrat who has returned to its war-torn valleys to spread his mother's ashes. Ajay is pulled into the civil unrest plaguing the area thanks to the sociopathic despot Pagan Min and his violent regime.

I asked Game Director Pat Methe to share five of his favorite moments from Far Cry 4. Watch the video below and follow along. As a bonus, I sat down and played Far Cry 4 myself and picked out six things that caught my eye during a three-hour binge session.

PlayStation Now Open Beta Launches Today on PS Vita and PS TV

250°
6w ago - PlayStation Now Director of Marketing Peter Jamshidi announced that their PlayStation Now Open Beta launches today on PS Vita and PS TV platforms.

Below are the details, to quote: Starting today, the PlayStation Now Open Beta will be available on both the PS Vita and [Register or Login to view links] systems in much of the mainland U.S. and Canada, in addition to already being available on PS4 and PS3*.

Our vision for PS Now is to make it possible for more people than ever to have quick and easy access to PS3 games, making it as easy to stream these games as it is to stream TV, movies, and music.

PS Vita is an important part of that vision, as you'll be able to rent a game on one device, like PS4, then continue playing on your PS Vita or vice versa.

That's possible because of our cloud technology, which lets you play select PS3 games from our library of over 150 PS Now titles including God of War: Ascension on both a home console and a handheld device without the need for game downloads, installs, or patches.

PS Now makes the value of PS TV even better. The system, which launches today and starts as low as $99.99 MSRP, also provides one of the most affordable ways to get access to our library of PS3 games available...

To quote: For a little more than a month, the PlayStation Now Open Beta has allowed PS4 users to quickly access and play games from a rich and expanding library of PS3 titles directly from our cloud servers, without the need to wait for game downloads, installs, or patches.

I am happy to announce that the Open Beta will be available to PS3 users* in mainland U.S. and parts of Canada starting today.

PS3 users will now see PS Now titles integrated into PlayStation Store as part of the Open Beta. The library of PS Now games has grown to more than 150 titles, and will continue to grow as the service expands over time.

Video: Open-world Winter Sports Game SNOW is Coming to PS4

50°
14w ago - Poppermost Productions CEO and Game Director Alexander Bergendahl shared a video today announcing that open-world Winter Sports game SNOW is coming to PS4.

Below are the details, to quote: My name is Alexander Bergendahl and I am the CEO and Game Director of Poppermost Productions, an indie studio from Stockholm, Sweden.

Poppermost was formed in 2012 and we have quickly grown from a team of three into a team of 10, thanks largely to the success of our first title, SNOW, on PC. Today, we couldn't be more excited to announce that SNOW will be released as a console exclusive on PS4.

With diverse employee experience in modding, AAA and indie development, Poppermost was formed to create something different.

With SNOW, our goal is to build the world's first free-to-play, open world, winter sports experience - a game that never restricts the player, but instead empowers them to play however they want.

Most of the Poppermost team grew up skiing and snowboarding during winter holidays, so we wanted to create a game that really captured the rush of speeding down the mountain, the tranquility of being in nature, and the creativity of executing tricks in the park and backcountry.

16w ago - Following up on the previous update, today PSNStuff v3.00 is released by Sinsizer (initially by LoOzers) and is finally going open source with details below.

To quote: This is the last update. Server will be shutdown within the next weeks (Because it wastes my energy and bandwidth. Also the guy who was maintaining the db doesn't have time anymore). The tool will be released with sourcecode.

It was used to store fingerprints like this: 643C-0F84-F0F3-7990-F88C-133E-9423-62A0. The tool was calculating hashs of this type, based on hardware ID's, to reliably identify machines. In case someone would have started flooding via submit, I could have banned the machine.

I also forget to mention that I've removed the vm restrictions. So the tool can be run in virtual machines again.

Changelog:

  • removed the whole encryption (the db is only packed with gzip)
  • removed rap button timeout

For future use I would recommend someone puts...
