50°
5h ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli revealed The Last of Us free maps and new weapons in their latest PS4 and PS3 patch update today!

To quote: Happy Friday! We're pushing a patch today ([Register or Login to view links]) that addresses many of the matchmaking issues taking place in Factions mode for The Last of Us Remastered.

You should see improved matchmaking all around. It will be rolling out over the next twenty-four hours globally. Look for the update when you turn on your system today.

With that patch, as promised, we're giving away two, brand new multiplayer maps for [Register or Login to view links].

The first map is the Beach, an excellent map for long-range experts. The second map is Financial Plaza, which is ideal for both sniping and close quarters combat. The maps will be free for both PS4 and PS3 players. Check out these maps in our latest trailer:

Once we've deployed the maps, upon signing into Factions multiplayer, the store will pop up and you'll be asked to download them for free. Here are the [Register or Login to view links]...

Video: Murasaki Baby Hands-on: Strange New Worlds on PS Vita

50°
5h ago - Sony Social Media Senior Manager Sid Shuman shared a hands-on video today which explores the strange new worlds in Murasaki Baby on PS Vita.

To quote: Here's the thing about PS Vita exclusive Murasaki Baby: it's one of the strangest, most subversive games I've played.

It seems like studio Ovosonico designed it to deliberately get under the skin of established game conventions, and the result is something I've never quite seen before.

You don't directly control the titular Baby, for instance; instead, you lead her through a disturbing world solely using PS Vita's front touchscreen and rear touchpad (that's right: no buttons or analog sticks at all). As the game progresses, Baby learns from your interactions and gradually becomes a bit more independent.

The game's universe is the real star, starting with the lively sketch-like art direction of the environment and its characters. From the ominous landscapes - which look like Tim Burton fever dreams - to the grotesque character designs, Murasaki Baby is a study in how to make cute creepy.

Watch my playthrough of the game's first chapter to see why Murasaki Baby is worth keeping an eye out when it lands on PS Vita this September.

Humble Hearts Announce Dust: An Elysian Tail is Coming to PS4

50°
18h ago - Humble Hearts Creator Dean Dodrill announced today that Dust: An Elysian Tail on PS4 is coming soon to PlayStation 4.

Below are the details, to quote: Most press releases are boring, awful things.

This one here, for example, is pretty bad right out of the gate. Far as we can tell, most press releases are so stuffy because the people writing them are business types, with suits and ties.

So, in accordance with that free-wheeling game developer spirit, we've decided not to announce Dust: An Elysian Tail for PS4 ourselves. Instead, we're going to pass the proverbial baton over to one of the stars of Dust: An Elysian Tail and let her do it instead. There is no way this could possibly go wrong.

"Hello, Internet-People! I'm Fidget, co-star of Dust: An Elysian Tail. As you can see in the photograph displayed above, taken moments ago in a candid fashion, I'm playing the game with a DualShock 4! That's no Photoshop job, that's the real deal! Dust: An Elysian Tail is coming to PlayStation 4 REALLY REALLY SOON! I KNOW! It's crazy! Crazy like a nimbat!

"So, what is Dust: An Elysian Tail? I'm glad you asked, this being an announcement post about it and all!

"Imagine a 2D side-scrolling platformer, with crazy-fast swordplay and screen-clearing MAGIC supplied by...
