Murdered: Soul Suspect PS4 and PS3 Concept Art Explored

50°
8w ago - Square-Enix Community Manager Lee Williams explored some of the concept art today from Murdered: Soul Suspect for PS4 and PS3 platforms.

To quote: We had the pleasure of sitting down with the young and incredibly gifted Concept Artist, Yuki Matsuzawa, who was responsible for visual development on Murdered: Soul Suspect on PS4 and PS3.

Yuki already had a rich history in Concept Art even before joining the Murdered: Soul Suspect team, having joined Square Enix in 2004 to work with Isamu Kamikokuryo on Final Fantasy XIII for several years. Isamu joined us today as well to see how his protégé had applied his experience with Final Fantasy to a more western game.

In order to show you just how successful this collaboration turned out to be, we were fortunate enough to not only talk about the origins of the game, but Yuki even shared some of his original work for you to feast your eyes on.

First up is a sketch of our protagonist, Ronan O'Connor, which was drawn soon after Matsuzawa joined the Murdered team. As there were no reference materials depicting the reality of a ghost-on-ghost fight (whether they had guns or hit each other with their fists), Matsuzawa came up with several ideas about how best to show such a ghostly battle.

Atomicom Unveils The Art of Switch Galaxy Ultra on PS4, PS Vita

11w ago - Atomicom Managing Director Gary Nichols unveils the art of Switch Galaxy Ultra on PS4 and PS Vita with details below.

To quote: Greetings - Gary from Atomicom here with an update on Switch Galaxy Ultra, our insanely-fast, reaction-based arcade game that's been developed as an update to our critically acclaimed PlayStation Mobile title Switch Galaxy.

We've been off the radar a bit as we had our heads down squeezing every last drop of art, code, and blood into the game and it's shaped up to be something we're very proud of. Both the PS4 and PS Vita versions are running in super smooth 60 FPS with the PS4 version at 1080p.

Both feature online multiplayer with two modes of play for up to four players, and we've incorporated cross play so you can compete against your buddies across PS4 and PS Vita. We also have cross buy and cloud save so everyone with a PS4 and Vita combo is getting a real treat.

Finally, there are also seven player ships, all fully upgradable and a ton of fiendishly fast levels - plus an endless survival mode. If that wasn't enough, we also have an awesome twenty two-page comic that unlocks as you play through the game. More on that shortly.

We've been working with WipeOut Co-Creator and Psygnosis art legend Jim Bowers, who has taken time out from...

Rain Games on The Art of Teslagrad for PS3 and PS Vita Platforms

50°
15w ago - Rain Games Developer Eduardo Garabito shared details today on the art of Teslagrad for PS3 and PS Vita platforms below.

To quote: Hi there! It's Teslagrad Minister of Propaganda, reporting again. We're going all out here, working on both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game, and making progress.

And although it's too soon to talk about a release date (Soon enough!), it's a perfect occasion to discuss Teslagrad's art and influences - questions we've been asked repeatedly both in interviews and on our social networks.

Of course, having three different artists on the team for a "small" game ensures that there are different influences along the way. And no less important, the game's art is a core element of Teslagrad, as we rely on visuals to build a silent story.

Character animation is one of the features that jumps out at you when playing Teslagrad. In that regard, and as [Register or Login to view links] notes, we shied away from a clean, modern look for the animations for several reasons.

We knew we wanted to do the game in HD, with hand-animated characters, which is a huge task for a tiny team such as ours. We opted to do most character animations in 12 FPS...

Video: Sound Shapes: PlayStation 4, PS4 DLC, and Art Packs

50°
36w ago - Sony Santa Monica Senior Producer Zach Wood shared a video today detailing Sound Shapes on PlayStation 4, PS4 DLC and Art Packs below.

To quote: Okay, this is a big one. Are you ready? Here we go.

So you probably saw the PS4 launch last week - pretty exciting, right!? Did you get one? Lucky lucky if you did.

We've been playing with the PlayStation 4 for a while, because we've been preparing Sound Shapes for this screaming fast new machine. Sound Shapes doesn't exactly push the hardware, but it sure looks sweet!

We've also added new functionality with DualShock 4′s touchpad, light bar, and speakers. It also takes advantage of PS4′s social features, like the new Share button that allows you to easily livestream your game with friends and share vids of your levels.

With all these improvements, this is a great time to pick up Sound Shapes (we're impressed with your monk-like patience if you haven't). If you're already one of our thousands of supporters, we have great news... The PS4 version of Sound Shapes is free for you!

That's right, everyone who's already purchased the game from PSN for PS3 or PS Vita also gets it for PS4 (isn't Cross-Buy great?). The flip is...
