Naughty Dog: How The Last of Us Remastered Enhances Multiplayer

50°
1w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli shared details today on how The Last of Us Remastered enhances multiplayer on the PlayStation 4 console.

Below are the details, as follows: The Last of Us Remastered launches next week in North America.

We'll be revealing some upcoming DLC and streaming a basic introduction to the multiplayer mode, Factions, live later this week over on our Twitch channel. We plan to show off the new features for PS4 as well as give our primer for those not familiar with the mode on Thursday, July 24th at 11:30 AM Pacific and 5:30 PM Pacific.

If you can't watch the Twitch stream, we asked Erin Daly, Lead Multiplayer Designer, and Quentin Cobb, Game Designer, a couple of questions about Factions multiplayer mode in the game. If you're new to the world of Factions, this is a great primer.

If you're a hardened survivor with a clan that never diminishes, read on to hear about some exciting developments we were able to make in The Last of Us Remastered.

Q: Why is the multiplayer mode called Factions?

Quentin Cobb: We wanted the online multiplayer to focus on the larger story of the player representing a faction (Fireflies or Hunters) and rebuilding their own clan in that faction. This grounds the online matches...

Video: New Sacred 3 PlayStation 3 Trailer Showcases Co-op Combat

2w ago - Deep Silver's Ryan Avery made available a new Sacred 3 PlayStation 3 trailer video today that showcases co-op combat below.

To quote: The Sacred franchise has always been known for its co-op play and humor, and this new trailer echoes those strengths loud and clear in Sacred 3 on PS3.

Returning fans and new players will fight back the hordes of the evil Emperor Zane while competing with friends to prove who is Ancaria's greatest champion.

A strong team is necessary to defeat the countless enemies of the evil empire. You'll need to equip combat arts and weapon spirits that will complement your team and your own unique play style.

However, there are powerful enemies that won't be easily slain. Combine your powers with other champions to cast devastating co-op combat arts.

Once the dust from the battles has settled, the scoresheet will reveal which hero will stand as the undisputed champion over his or her peers. This establishes a delicate balance between friendly cooperation and cut-throat competition.

Pre-order Sacred 3 to receive the mysterious new blood-magic wielding champion, the Malakhim.

Here's a look at some of the video highlights from the game, courtesy of The Show.

It took three and a third innings for the scoring to start, and with back-to-back doubles from Carlos Gomez and Andrew McCutchen in the top of the 4th, the NL got on the board first. The AL responded in the bottom half of the inning when Andrew Jones singled, stole second, and hustled home on a Josh Donaldson base hit.

Video: How to Pair DualShock 4 Controller with PS3 to Work Wirelessly

4w ago - Today YouTube user SuperOriginalA made available a video on how to pair a DualShock 4 Controller with the PS3 to work wirelessly with details below.

To quote: The DualShock 4 Can Now Be Used Wirelessly On PS3

The PS4's controller has been compatible with the PS3 since launch, though only if it was connected through a USB wire. However it now appears one of the recent updates allows for you to connect the controller and use it wirelessly.

I just came across a tip on Reddit (reddit.com/r/PS3/comments/29jpiv/ds4_is_now_supported_wirelessly_after_recent_ps3/) now, and had to try it out for myself, though the console doesn't actually recognize the controller as an official Sony one. The step by step guide is as follows:

  • Connect DS4 with wire to PS3 then turn on.
  • Go to Accessory settings.
  • Select Manage Bluetooth Devices, and start scanning for device.
  • Unplug DS4
  • While scanning hold the PS & Share buttons on the DS4.
  • When the light flashes quickly on DS4 plug back in and select Wireless Controller.
  • Let registration complete and then unplug.

This isn't full recognition and as a result things like the PS button, as well...

How to Control Your PS4 Using the TV Remote Control Guide

50°
6w ago - Below is a guide from kingplay on how to control your PS4 using the TV remote control for those interested, as follows:

To quote: How to Control Your PS4 Using the TV Remote Control Guide

In order to watch a movie or anything in PS4 you probably prefer using a remote control rather than a DualShock4 to control movie playback and to launch the console, but no new official device is available to do this.

Fortunately, there is a solution for this. I will teach you through this tutorial how to use a remote control on your PS4. I will give you the procedure with a Samsung TV.

Note: Your TV must be compatible with HDMI-CEC option, to know if this is the case, look in the manual, or search in the menus of your TV.

The first thing to do is to activate the option in the system of the PlayStation 4.

  • To do this, go to the Settings menu.
  • Then, go to the System menu at the bottom.
  • And then you must check the box "Activate device HDMI link".
  • Now in the menu on your TV, you must go to the HDMI-CEC related menu. On a Samsung, it is in the application menu, and then in Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).
  • Go to the Configuration menu.
  • Turn the HDMI-CEC option to ON.
  • Return to the previous menu, and go to...
