2h ago - Following up on the PS4 Firmware 2.00 Preview and Webkit Bug Fix rumor, Sony has now shared additional details on PS4 Firmware 2.0 Masamune spotlighting Share Play and Music Player below.

To quote: "Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia shared quite a lot of information on the features coming with firmware 2.0 “Masamune,” but quite a few more caveats have been mentioned on the [Register or Login to view links] site.

The Share Play feature, which is built into the party chat app, will also follow the rules below:

  • You can be in a Party with 8 people, but Share Play can be done only with one of them at the same time. The rest of the Party won’t be able to see the screen, but will still be able to chat with host and guest.
  • When the host is visualizing any other screen than the game being shared, the guest is shown a “stand by” screen.
  • The Share Play time is limited to one hour, and the remaining time is visualized in the Party screen, but...

I have personally stated in past blog posts that we listen to our fans. PlayStation has heard gamers when they say they want more ways to find friends to play with, and more ways to personalize their PS4.

With this update, we've added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4.

Sony Video Unlimited Web Player is Now Available on PC and Mac

5w ago - Sony Corporate Communications Senior Manager Greg Belloni announced today that their Video Unlimited Web Player is now available on both PC and Mac with details below.

To quote: You can now instantly watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters and hit TV episodes* from Video Unlimited on Windows and Mac OS PCs** through Sony Entertainment Network's new web video player.

The web player eliminates the need to download and view Video Unlimited content through a separate PC application and offers Mac OS compatibility for the first time.

Simply navigate to the [Register or Login to view links], rent or purchase a video, and select "Watch Now."

The in-browser web player window will open, offering easy to use playback controls and the ability to enter into full screen mode.

You can also immediately watch owned and previously rented content through the "My Videos" section accessible in Account Settings.

The new web player is available to all Video Unlimited countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States.
