5w ago - Sony Senior Producer Nathan Baseley shared a video today showcasing the crafting of a Film Noir Mystery in Wonderbook for Diggs Nightcrawler.
To quote: Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler hits shelves this Holiday!
The team at Moonbot Studios are a highly creative team and master story tellers. Little Bo Peep, the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Three Little Pigs together in a film noir mystery?
Definitely not your run of the mill game. We're pleased to lift the curtain on the development of Diggs Nightcrawler in this first video diary.
With the book as the starting point, the world, the characters, the story and the interactions were born (or as Humpty would say, "hatched").
Diggs is a detective bookworm who knows he's inside a book, whose world is made from books, and who travels throughout the course of the game to different sections of the library, meeting unique characters along the way.
Of course, being Wonderbook, this is no ordinary hardcover. It is your controller as you tilt, rotate and turn the pages to help Diggs get the bottom of Humpty's downfall.
We hope you enjoy the diary - we'll have more in the coming weeks. And...
27w ago - Community Editor Victor Zuylen has posted up a video today which spotlights fighting the Helghast on film alongside a Killzone Intercept Q&A below.
To quote: Killzone Intercept is a fan-made live action short set during the ISA evacuation of Helghan in Killzone 3.
The 14-minute film follows a small ISA squad as they're ordered to prevent a large contingent of Helghast troops from intercepting the retreating ISA convoy. Outnumbered, the squad takes on the task with hopes of getting everyone off the planet alive.
Since its release on the Internet last week, Killzone Intercept has been a small sensation among Killzone fans and novices alike.
At the time of writing, the fan film has amassed nearly 170,000 views - and it's not showing signs of slowing down. We got in touch with director (and longtime Killzone fan) Brian Curtin to find out how Killzone Intercept came together.
PlayStation.Blog: Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get started making fan films?
Brian Curtin, Director of Killzone Intercept: I consider myself an Art Director/Graphic Designer by day and Independent Filmmaker by night. I've always been interested in the arts. Early...
143w ago - VidZone's Head of Production Ben Creasey has revealed today that the exclusive Underworld - Always Loved A Film video is heading to Sony's PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Do I need to introduce Underworld? I would like to think that I don't. They aren't just the ones that did that one that went "Lager lager lager shouting"; they are producers that have shaped the dance music scene for the last 25 years, albeit with a couple of breaks here and there.
So, we have the exclusive of their new video, Always Loved a Film, and I have to say the whole office is a fan of this video. Imagine footage of your local skate park attendees but with a twist; to find out the twist, well you can probably see from the screen grabs, but get yourself over to VidZone to check... it... out.
The track is from their new album, Barking, which is out on the 13th of September and is destined to be quite a smash with collaborations with everyone from Mark Knight to High Contrast.
198w ago - A few rumors to kick off the new week... Portuguese site GamersTek.com (linked above) is reporting that SCE is allegedly going to confirm a PS3 price drop to €299.00 today, noting that Spanish retailers including Alternate.es and Pixmania.com are already listing PlayStation 3 80GB + LittleBigPlanet bundles at a 25% drop.
Additionally, NeoGAF is speculating on whether a recently uncovered YouTube 'Making of Batman' clip from the Rocksteady team contains a PS3 Slim at the 1:35 minute mark that was edited out.
A picture of it as well as the video are below, and to quote- roughly translated:
It was a worthy post in the forum NeoGAF and known who started the latest rumors about the declining price of the PlayStation 3.
According to the same, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will confirm today, Monday 10th of August, that the console will actually fall in price to € 299.00.
To give force to speculation, the chain of Spanish stores Alternate already put...
204w ago - Columbia is developing the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune video game into a feature film, setting Kyle Ward to pen the adaptation that would be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner.
To quote: The story follows a descendent of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue.
The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is racheted up several notches when creatures - actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis - begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure's true secrets.
