21w ago - Nearly two months after the previous update, today I have posted a guide and video on how to downgrade a PS3 4.31 OFW console (including CECH-300x slims) to 4.30 Rogero v2.03 CFW using a PS3 Hardware Flasher with no 3.55 needed.
Very easy tutorial. Follow the steps to downgrade a PS3, but when you get to the first step of the USB downgrading part after putting your PS3 into service mode, use Rogero 4.30 CFW v2.03 on the root of the USB with the lv2diag.self to downgrade instead of the 3.55.
So again, no 3.55 ever touches the PS3 during this whole setup! Doing this will also now allow CECH-300x models original slims to be downgraded to 4.30 CFW as long as it never touches 3.55
The whole reason for this was to find out if the E3 fits a CECH-400xx model super slim models, but all I needed was proof that you can downgrade from 4.31 to 4.30 CFW with a flasher.
So if any one out there has an E3 and a new super slim model please test this if it works! You can make back ups of the NOR incase it fails.
28w ago - Following up on the PS3 Factory 3.56 with Flasher news, French PlayStation 3 developer raymanvtwo has shared a way to install Rebug PS3 CFW 4.21.1 on any version PS3, however, it requires a PS3 Hardware Flasher, will format your HDD and may result in a permanently bricked console so be WARNED!
Below is a rough translation of the process, as follows: You will need just a flash, great care, attention and rigor.
This method will format the hard drive of your PS3, make sure to recover your important data. Also, you incur a risk of irreversible brick in case of bad handling. Neither I nor PS3-Addict can not be held responsible. If you are not able to follow this tutorial to the letter, thank you spend your way!
Firstly, ensure the validity of your dump, flow rebuilder is the best in the field. Also check that all your fichiez is a different size of 0 bytes (including bootloader_0). If there is a problem, it will help you out.
Now that you have your dump, to see if the offset 200 if you or IFI FI.I with HxD as hexadecimal editor. If you IFI,...

30w ago - Today the E3 Team announced they (and likely several other teams) will be releasing a PS3 CFW v4.30 for 'free' soon (since the PS3 LV0 / Bootldr / Appldr Keys etc are in the wild) with their own Game Manager as well.
Update #2: An anonymous user called Soon has shared PS3 LV0 for 4.30 / 4.25 and LV2 of 4.21 decrypted, and with his LV0 4.25, LV2 4.25 and LV0 4.30 dumped & decrypted (below) and states that the E3 CFW should not be installed.
