2w ago - Below is a picture of a fan-made PS4 case modification that introduces an NES themed retro look on the PlayStation 4 video gaming system.
We will add more PS4 mods to this article as they surface, and to quote:
While we don’t have much choice when it comes to official colors for PlayStation 4, we can customize it to our heart’s content. One user made this NES themed PS4 and it is definitely worth a look for sure.
This custom painted PS4 is themed after Nintendo’s classic NES. The colors work quite well and make for a beautiful looking PS4 system, that would be a dream come true for every retro console lover. The only thing that will make this even better is NES themed DualShock 4 controllers to go with the console.
So what do you think of this NES themed PS4? Do you like this look for PS4? Let us know in the comments below.
4w ago - Co-founder of Spearhead Games Malik Boukhira announced today that Tiny Brains hits PS4 on 11/26 alongside a look at the DualShock 4 controller on PlayStation 4 below.
To quote: My friend Simon Darveau and I quit our jobs at AAA gaming studios in favor of a smaller, more experimental and creative independent game development. We wanted to create a new kind of game experience, and what better way to do so than to ride the wave of the new generation of consoles?
So with the help of PlayStation's push for indies, we found our experiment in cooperation, Tiny Brains, coming to life on the shockingly high-res screens of the brand-new PS4 on November 26th!
For some background, Tiny Brains is an upcoming action puzzle game that follows the adventures of four tiny (but super-powered!) lab animals that have been experimented on by a mad scientist. Each "tiny brain" has a unique physics-based ability and players must work together to combine their powers and escape the trick-ridden science experiment.
We made this game to truly be about co-op - unlike some co-op games where the stronger players can complete the objectives while their less-experienced friends hang back and bumble about, in Tiny Brains, all the animals' powers must work in tandem in order to progress. You and your fellow...
7w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino shared a video today which offers a deeper look at the PS4 world of Knack on PlayStation 4.
To quote: Hello, everyone. We're coming to the final stretch before the launch of PS4, as well as Knack, a game I've been honored to be a part of. It has been great working with the very talented folks at Japan Studio, not to mention Mark Cerny, a true living legend.
Our goal with Knack was to deliver a different kind of experience for PlayStation fans at launch, outside of the realm of gritty shooters and mature action games.
Knack harkens back to the golden days of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, when controls were simpler, but challenges were large enough that those control schemes had to be mastered by anyone intending to finish the games. So, who better to create a game like that than one of the creative forces that brought Crash and Jak to life, Mark Cerny himself?
Knack has a lot to offer, so I'm excited to be able to share some new details on the story, and some of the cool transformations that Knack takes on during the game.
The story, of course, revolves around Knack, mankind's secret weapon against the goblin...
14w ago - Tequila Works Creative Director Raul Rubio Munarriz shared a first look at the stunning PS4 / PlayStation 4 adventure game Rime below today.
To quote: Gamescom 2013. Where to begin? It was hugely emotional for us after being silent for so long. Not being able to talk about Rime publically or show what we'd been pouring our creativity into for so long was really difficult.
Finally our frustration was at an end. But ends also herald beginnings, and Rime being presented to the world amongst so many other unique and creative games was the best platform for an announcement we could have hoped for.
For us, it's not just about technology (although that's important too!), it's about how you create an experience - how you breathe life into your creation and set it free. Rime is a very personal project and, together with Sony, we have high hopes for our offspring!
16w ago - The Chinese Room Co-Directors Dan Pinchbeck and Jessica Curry gave fans their first look at the PS4 adventure Everybody's Gone to the Rapture during Sony's Gamescom event today.
To quote: Hi there, we're Dan and Jessica, Co-Directors of The Chinese Room. We're based in Brighton, on the south coast of the UK. We made a game called Dear Esther for PC last year that was a first-person story-driven exploration and mystery title.
It was all about immersion and emotion, rather than having lots of complex gameplay, and was slow and poetic, with a really strong emphasis on the quality of the production - music, art, writing, voice-over.
It was one of the breakout indie hits of 2012, gathering up a whole bag of international awards and shifting over three quarters of a million copies. We were left thinking "how do you follow that?"
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, our new game, is our attempt to answer that question, and I want to tell you a little about it.
Like Dear Esther, the new game is all about the story. It uses simple gameplay - basic exploration of a first-person world - so it's very friendly to people without a lot of game experience. But it's not casual in the classic sense - this is a deep and immersive game.
