New Sony PlayStation and PSN Games for December 9, 2014

500°
3w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN games for the upcoming week today as follows:

My goodness! This weekend has been absolutely packed with announcements coming out of PlayStation Experience here in Las Vegas.

From new No Man's Sky footage to the (official) Street Fighter V reveal, it's been a steady stream of content all for you, the PlayStation family.

And there's more on the way! Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is coming to PS4 this week. A sequel to the critically acclaimed Guardian of Light, Temple of Osiris once again features multiplayer challenges, puzzles, and a brand new story in Lara's incredible world.

That's not all, friends: Suikoden II is coming to PlayStation as a digital PSone classic. Yes, it's happening. The iconic adventure, along with the 108 Stars of Destiny, returns to PlayStation.

If you've never played it before, now's a fine time to experience the rich story, varied battle systems, and multiple endings that earned it a place in the RPG community's big ol' heart.

Lastly, please excuse the streamlined formatting of today's post- it's the result of swimming up a river of great games here in Vegas. Read on for a full list of new games coming next week, and enjoy the Drop!

The Ins and Outs (and Ups and Downs) of Designing N++ PS4 Levels

50°
3w ago - Metanet Co-Founder Mare Sheppard is here with details on the ins and outs (and ups and downs, and lefts and rights) of designing N++ levels for PS4 below.

To quote: We're back with more news about N++!

Before we get into that, we want to let you know that we (and N++!) will be at Playstation Experience (December 6-7, Booth # I31)! In addition to showing the game, we're also hosting a panel where we'll discuss the development of N++. See you there!

The question on everybody's mind is probably "when the heck is N++ going to come out?!", or possibly "what the heck is N++?" - for the answers to those questions and more, check out our devblog and tumblr.

For now, we'd like to announce that N++ will have a groundbreaking 1000 levels, and we'd like to tell you more about how they're made. Settle in, this is a detailed process.

N++ is a game that lives and dies by its levels, so making great levels is one of the main things we are making sure we nail. We at Metanet Software have been hand-crafting levels for the N series for ten years now (!), and have made somewhere upwards of 5000 in that time, which is equivalent to more than one level made every single day for ten years.

We started making levels for N++ in 2010, and have amassed about 2000 to refine...

9w ago - Following up on the initial announcement, today both difference comparisons and a teardown in pictures of the new PS4 CUH-1100 and the previous PlayStation 4 CUH-1000 models are available with details below.

To quote: "If you want to know the differences between the first CUH-1000 series model of the PS4 and the new CUH-1100 series which Sony has been pushing on the market lately, the Japanese blog [Register or Login to view links] did an extensive teardown of the new console and found out every little discrepancy between the two SKUs.

Power consumption between the two models is about the same both in stand-by mode and when turned on, while the CUH-1100 is about 50 grams lighter than its older counterpart, weighing 2.70 Kg instead of 2.75.

The new motherboard has the model number SAB-001, while the original one was SAA-001. Below you can see two pictures featuring both sides of the new board.
