Yah, the new Portal is bright- it's a stock theme and if it floats we will customize it later. Our Forums are also back online and brighter too, again another stock style which will likely be updated once we have some freetime.

Our Staff isn't the only one who can post news here now, anyone can and link to their own page with the related files, etc in their articles. This is now a community effort to keep people updated on the latest PS3 and other news that would interest techies and gamers alike.

If you like an article then leave a comment (requires a new registration) or vote for it by clicking the button on the left. Those with the most votes remain on the main Site News page longer and will also appear on the Top Today tab above.

Finally, we have a lot more to do before this is done (for example, move this from /new/ on the server and fix some sub-domain stuff) so please bear with us over the next few days and th... More »

Our friends over at Sony HQ must be at their whits end with all this Halo 3 talk, because they devilishly and secretly stuck it to the Halo franchise with a ::gasp:: Wikipedia revision! Using WikiScanner, it was discovered that an IP address originating out of Sony's UK studios edited the Wikipedia entry for "Halo series" dissing Halo 3's graphics. Sony's Wiki revision poked fun of the game's graphics by saying that they "wont look any better than Halo 2". Ouch Sony, just ouch. But don't worry Halo fanboys, because the Halo series wiki entry has since been corrected and set to a semi-locked status. Take that Halo haters!

Based on a series of popular Geico Insurance TV commercials, this new fish-out-of-water sitcom looks at contemporary life in a southern suburb through the eyes of three cavemen: cynical Nick, laid-back Jamie and middle-man Joel.

A clip is available at the link above... anyone think this show will last more than a few episodes, let alone a season? :D

Rockstar says that its next-gen Midnight Club, set in Los Angeles, is the company's "most ambitious project to date."

Yeah GTA IV looks great, but we can see where Rockstar is coming from: Midnight Club LA houses a very impressive, completely seamless recreation of LA-la-land, full of familiar places and potentially crawling with online racers.

We'd hate to think how the San Diego studio managed to map such a gigantic landmass (and make it look prettier than GTA IV), and our Rockstar spokesman seemed similarly taken back. "The fact that they live two hours away probably helped," he said.

Read all about it in our first Midnight Club eyes-on. "It's just the beginning," Rockstar promises.

Unreal Tournament III looks just a little too good to be true, as these new screens yet again show.

But believe what you see, because even early preview versions we've seen (and previewed to death) looked stunning and ran smooth as you like. Yes, that includes the PS3 version, too.

If you haven't seen the ultra-sweet trailers previously released, you really need to do that right now. And if you have seen them, watch them again.

Now we can't wait for November, when those Blu-ray discs of joy land on our desks and we rename the PlayStation 3 "Unreal Tournament Station 3."

Picture this: a towering, King Kong-size Millhouse costumed up as Katamari Damacy's King of All Kosmos -- complete with crown and pink and green cups sticking out where ears should be. From that one image you get a pretty good idea what The Simpsons Game is all about. As we saw in prior demos of levels like "Grand Theft Scratchy" and "Medal of Homer," this isn't just a game featuring the Simpsons; it turns the clan loose on videogames, in a videogame.

If you think of each level as an episode, the game becomes a season of the show during which the Simpsons figure out that they've been licensed out to be in a number of games. It all begins with Homer in what he thinks is one of his favorite dreams visiting the Land of Chocolate. The video that introduces the level erases any doubts about whether the production lives up to the standard of the TV show. The animation looks terrific in HD, and with the regular show writers and voice talent on the job, it's just like watching ano... More »

Sega's light gun tradition continues on Wii. First impressions inside.

Since the first rumblings of Ghost Squad's Wii release, the IGN Wii team has been pretty optimistic for the shooter's reincarnation on Nintendo's newest system. True; Wii doesn't do exact light gun conversion (at least not yet), but at least the IR adaptation has made it possible for games like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, as well as Duck Hunt clones in Wii Play and the possibility of House of the Dead or Virtua Cop's revival down the road - should SEGA will it. As the first light gun outing for the Japan-based company, SEGA is pushing the spiritual successor of both Virtua Cop and Confidential Mission (another arcade game that had a brief stint on Dreamcast), as Ghost Squad is now heading to Wii.

Ghost Squad is, in nearly every respect, the next Virtua Cop incarnation. The title has changed, and the game is now more robust, but everything from disarming shots to headshots and a prec... More »

Official confirmation from Nintendo that the Wii Zapper interface will indeed come with Link's Crossbow Training packed in and that the remote-housing Wii Zapper will sell for $20 starting Nov. 19.

Link's Crossbow Training drops players into a world in the style of The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess. Players assume the identity of hero Link, who progresses through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship. Start with stationary bull's-eyes and graduate to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies.
Nintendo also confirms a pretty interesting line-up of third-party Wii Zapper support including Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 which will include single player, arcade mode and support for up to 32 players in multiplayer.

Taking place 101 years after the foundation of the Assassins as described above, and inspired by actual historical events and characters, you assume the role of master Assassin Altair (الطائر, Arabic, “The Flying One”). ”You are an elite Assassin sent to stop the hostiles by suppressing the powers on both the Crusader and Saracen sides.

But as you carry out your missions, a conspiracy begins to unfold. You find yourself tangled up in a conflict that threatens not only the Holy Land, but the entire world - Jerusalem - 1191AD.” While the game begins in the sprawling city of Jerusalem, you will also travel to the equally detailed cities of Acre and Damascus during the game.

All of the environments in Assassin’s Creed are fully interactive. You can climb and go anywhere you wish. If something sticks out from a wall as little as two inches, you can climb it. While you cannot venture indoors too much, the vastness and detail of the outdoor en... More »
