Video: The Origin of Titan Souls on PS4 and PlayStation Vita

50°
25w ago - Acidnerve's Mark Foster shared a video trailer today showcasing the origin of Titan Souls on PS4 and PlayStation Vita with details below.

To quote: Armed with a single, indestructible arrow, Titan Souls on PS4 and PS Vita drops you into the midst of a desolate world you have no knowledge of.

Exploration will soon reveal the hiding places of the Titans that reside here, and it's your job to take them down.

Tense, punishing boss battles are a love of ours that we think a lot of gamers share. These kind of battles are the very core of the gameplay in Titan Souls. There are no health bars - a single strike will end your life, and a single hit to a Titan's weak spot is all you'll need to pull off a kill.

It's not as simple as it sounds, however - each Titan is completely unique, with its own threatening move set and its own hidden weakness to be exposed. It's a challenging game, and we're not going to help you out with any overt tutorials or prompts either - you'll need to observe carefully and figure things out for yourself. Whilst simultaneously managing to survive. Maybe we're just horrible people.

The idea was born out of a Ludum Dare jam game of the same name that we made in a weekend...

DC Universe Online: Origin Crisis PS3 DLC Brings Quantum Powers

50°
84w ago - Executive Producer Larry Liberty announced today that DC Universe Online: Origin Crisis PS3 DLC is bringing quantum powers to fans.

Below are the details, to quote: I'm thrilled to finally announce that Origin Crisis, the seventh DLC for DC Universe Online - goes live today. Origin Crisis is one of our most action-packed and, easily, our most challenging DLC to date, introducing some amazing group and solo missions.

It is the culmination of many important events, and represents some vital new practices for DC Universe Online. The storyline is fantastic, and reminiscent of some of the great comic book story arcs involving alternate universes and the characters that originate within them.

Who wouldn't want to meet the Council of Batmen or Council of Lex Luthors, and alter the origin of the most iconic characters in the DC Universe? Origin Crisis picks up where our third DLC, The Battle for Earth, left off - after heroes and villains united against Brainiac, stopping his plans to remake the multiverse in his image.

After Brainiac's defeat, Future Lex Luthor's designs on the Nexus of Reality and its promise of near-infinite power were revealed. The last we saw of that story, Future Batman arrived to stop Lex. It's been fifteen months since those events, and now we get to see...

Project Origin is now F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin by Monolith

200°
328w ago - It's official. Monolith Productions' Project Origin will no longer be a "spiritual successful" to their own hit shooter F.E.A.R. Instead, it's now a full-blown sequel.

F.E.A.R. fans out there will probably remember that Sierra retained ownership of the F.E.A.R. name while Monolith was left with the rights to the whole F.E.A.R. universe after the latter was acquired by Warner Bros.

This whole situation resulted in the announcement of two F.E.A.R. follow-ups: a "spiritual successor" from Monolith and an "official" sequel Sierra was supposed to make with another developer. For their project, Monolith held a naming contest, where "Project Origin" won out.

Flash forward to 2008. After Sierra's parent company Vivendi merged with Activision, Sierra had to face the cancellation of most of its upcoming games. Warner Bros. and Monolith weren't about to let the opportunity pass by, and so they took the chance to re-acquire the F.E.A.R. brand.

So, what does this leave us with? F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

The game's also finally been given a release date: February 10, 2009. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will be available on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3.
