PlayStation Now Open Beta Launches Today on PS Vita and PS TV

250°
1w ago - PlayStation Now Director of Marketing Peter Jamshidi announced that their PlayStation Now Open Beta launches today on PS Vita and PS TV platforms.

Below are the details, to quote: Starting today, the PlayStation Now Open Beta will be available on both the PS Vita and [Register or Login to view links] systems in much of the mainland U.S. and Canada, in addition to already being available on PS4 and PS3*.

Our vision for PS Now is to make it possible for more people than ever to have quick and easy access to PS3 games, making it as easy to stream these games as it is to stream TV, movies, and music.

PS Vita is an important part of that vision, as you'll be able to rent a game on one device, like PS4, then continue playing on your PS Vita or vice versa.

That's possible because of our cloud technology, which lets you play select PS3 games from our library of over 150 PS Now titles including God of War: Ascension on both a home console and a handheld device without the need for game downloads, installs, or patches.

PS Now makes the value of PS TV even better. The system, which launches today and starts as low as $99.99 MSRP, also provides one of the most affordable ways to get access to our library of PS3 games available...

To quote: As we announced back at CES, [Register or Login to view links] (PS Now) is the first-ever game streaming service available on a game console, where you can quickly access a rich and expanding library of PlayStation 3 (PS3) games from our cloud servers.

Since January, PS Now has been in Private Beta for select gamers across the country, and I'm happy to announce that the Open Beta will be available to all PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners in the U.S. and Canada starting tomorrow.

As part of this Open Beta, PS4 users will see PS Now titles fully integrated into PlayStation Store, available to be streamed for various rental durations. Check out the video walkthrough of how it all works:

During the PS Now Open Beta, PS4 users will see a diverse library of more than 100 titles to rent, with more added regularly. DICE Announces the Battlefield 4 Open Beta Starts Today on PS3

55w ago - DICE Community Manager Vincent Vukovic announced that the Battlefield 4 Open Beta starts today on PS3 with details below, as follows:

Help Us Make the Game Better

These are exciting times for Battlefield fans, and everyone at DICE! Today, we're releasing the Battlefield 4 open beta on PS3, and we want you all to join.

Simply by taking part in the beta, you'll help us test the servers, online functionality, and gameplay to make sure the PS3 launch on October 29th goes as smoothly as possible.

In the open beta, you'll be able to play both the classic Conquest mode and Domination, which you might recognize from Battlefield 3: Close Quarters (it's basically a faster and tighter version of Conquest, with more emphasis on infantry combat). The map on offer is Siege of Shanghai - you might recognize it from E3, when we first unveiled it and where the public got their very first hands-on with Battlefield 4.

Now, we want to bring that experience - complete with game-changing Levolution events like the big skyscraper collapsing or setting off car alarms - to all of our fans on PS3. It's you, the player, triggering these moments.

We're also looking to our fans to provide valuable feedback on the overall gaming experience. This is in every sense...

Killzone: Mercenary MP Open Beta in Late August, Closed Beta Live Now

100°
64w ago - Sony PlayStation Public Relations Manager Aram Jabbari revealed today that the Killzone: Mercenary MP Open Beta for PS Vita arrives in late August while the Closed Beta is live now.

To quote: We're excited to announce that the Killzone: Mercenary closed multiplayer beta (for which signups were held a short while ago and already concluded, if you're just tuning in now) is now LIVE. To those who got in, you should already have the necessary information to jump in and get going.

Note: If you received a multiplayer Beta voucher as part of the promotion via PlayStation Home, please note that your voucher is for the Open Beta in late August, not for the closed Beta launching today.

To those of you who didn't get in or are just hearing about this now, worry not: we're going to open the multiplayer beta right on up in late August - details will be coming really soon, so stay tuned.

And really, who doesn't like a good open beta? They're a bit draftier. They let in more natural light. Better for Agoraphobes and such.

Killzone: Mercenary hits shelves in North America on September 10th, 2013.
