Video: Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.3: Defenders of Eorzea Now Live

50°
5d ago - Square Enix Community Project Manager Hergen Thaens shared a video today spotlighting the Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.3 announcing Defenders of Eorzea is now live!

To quote: Good morning, everyone! Every few months, something magical happens here at Square Enix.

While we're watching all of you adventurers, fighting your way through Eorzea, we think to ourselves "We should give them more. We can give them more. It's been three months already!" - and then, in a secret and mysterious ceremony, High Priest of the Code Yoshida-san gets the dev team together, places a development PC in a magic circle, together with some Final Fantasy artifacts, energy drinks and fast food, and, using ancient magic, summons forth a mighty content update!

Well, ok. There may be a lot more actual work and a bit less actual magic involved. But that doesn't change the fact that as you are reading this, the update has just been applied to the servers! Also, I'd really love to see the scene described above in art form - any artists reading this?

What do you mean, you don't know what this update adds to the game? We can't have that. Watch the 2.3 trailer right here, right now, and then tell me you're not looking forward to joining in!

To quote: Sony Computer Entertainment just sent in a press release including an extensive FAQ that will probably answer every question you might have about PlayStation Now and its upcoming beta phases.

Interestingly, details on pricing are also provided, and we learn that despite the fact that the open beta will still involve testing, it will require users to pay for the games they want to rent.

Is the open beta service a commercial launch? What exactly is the open beta service?
Yes. By expanding access to all PS4 and PS3 users in the Mainland US and most of Canada, SCE will further evolve the service by receiving feedback from users. Users are able to enjoy PS3 titles on their PS3/PS4 via rental.

Why are you calling it an open beta service, even though it is a commercial launch?
PS Now is a pioneer service, and we will continue to evolve it in order to deliver the best user experience. We will listen to user feedback and...

To quote: Hi there, my name is Dominic Robilliard and for the last year or so I've been serving as the Creative Director for a new group within Sony World Wide Studios: Pixelopus.

It's a beautiful, addictive and abstract action/arcade game about two souls who are in love but that can't be together. These souls are represented by a bird and a fish, which you must learn to control simultaneously.

1: Blue Estate - the comics behind the game

Blue Estate is a critically-acclaimed and award-nominated graphic novel, and has been created by Viktor Kalvachev and Kosta Yanev.

Blue Estate was published by Image Comics a couple of years ago with the Graphic Novel coming out this September. In a Tarantino-esque noir style narrative, a clueless private eye stumbles into tense relations between several LA crime organizations.

PlayStation Now PS4 Beta Invite Available, Reply for Chance to Get It!

800°
6w ago - First time poster but long time quiet reader. Over the years I've found this site very useful and all of its members very helpful and knowledgable. I thought i would give a little something back.

Today I received beta invites to the PS3 and PS4. I used the PS3 code and it works great. I don't have any use for the PS4 code so I am offering it to anyone who wants it. It will only work on a PS4 and only on an American account.

This means you must have signed up to PSN with an American address. I hope I'm not breaking any rules on this site by doing this. I will check back later tonight for replies. I will pick a random user from the replies to be the winner. This might just be YOUR lucky day!!
