Marcan has announced the Nintendo Wii Homebrew Channel BETA 9 is now available for those interested.

Download: Wii Homebrew Channel BETA 9

To quote: Beta9 would have been out a few days ago, but then Nintendo came up with the new October 23 update with perfect timing, so we had to make sure the beta9 installer was compatible (read: exploited a new bug nobody knew about until then).

Warning: We’ve updated the ELF loader to be compliant with the specs. Unfortunately, DevkitPPC ELFs currently are not (they will be in the next release), so they’ll break. App authors should distribute DOL versions. If they don’t, tell them to. If they don’t, convert it yourself:

powerpc-gekko-objcopy -O binary boot.elf boot.dol

Knoxximus has found a method which allows 4GB SD cards (non-SDHC) to be fully utilized as a Wii storage card.

To quote: For the people who DON'T LIKE TO READ, THIS SOLUTION ALLOWS YOU TO USE AN OTHERWISE UNSUPPORTED SIZE SD CARD (4GB) TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL AND STILL HAVE VERY DECENT TRANSFER SPEEDS!

Okay! Now we all know that Nintendo's official line is that cards larger than 2GB will not work on the Wii...and for the most part this is true. However...what about a 4GB SD (NOT SDHC) card that PRETENDS it's a 2GB, but then over time can be slowly expanded to meet it's 4GB potential?

I scoured the net for info on how to get this to work, and now I present to you the fruits of my labor. Here is a mini FAQ on how to get 4GB SD cards to work on your Wii.

1st of all, get a hold of this non-SDHC SD card. Here is a link at NewEgg where it is $10.75.

Photofast unveiled two new PSP products at the Computex 2008 event in Taiwan recently. They CR-5400 is a "dual slot adapter that converts microSD/microSDHC into Memory Stick Pro duo and provides 16GB of memory."

Two of these can then be plugged into the CR-3100 which will give your PSP 32GB of storage. Photofast are also working to increase the maximum storage to 64GB.

To quote: The CR-5400 is a dual slot adapter that converts microSD/microSDHC into Memory Stick Pro duo and provides 16GB of memory.

The CR-3100 allows you to combine four SDHC memory cards, totaling 32GB storage in your PSP. Just combine 2x8GB SDHC in one of their dual adaptors slots to double that!

According to our contacts at Computex 2008, the manufacturer is trying to enhance the maximum storage to 64GB… This is not official! We were also told that Sony’s latest technology is continuously being implemented in order to keep their products compatible.

An eager tipster sent in a pic and some info on what appears to be some sort of PS3 clone called "Winner" – think Vii meets PS3.

While the Vii concentrated on mimicking (horribly, but still) the Wii's feature set, the Winner is all about mimicking the PS3's myriad media functionalities. That means a photo player, karaoke functions, SDHC for media storage. But it's all about the (really crappy) games, right?

Winner is going to be packing 2D and 3D graphics with online and motion sensing features (note the totally not-a-Wiimote controller). How much would you expect to pay for the privilege? Did you say $600? No! Did you say $400? No!

How does $120-150 sound? At that bargain basement price, these things are really going to go fast; good thing they're promising 3 million consoles for the Japanese and North American markets.
