28w ago - Today Gemma Jessop of Cherry Pop Games shared some video footage announcing that Pool Nation lines up a PlayStation Network release today!
To quote: Doctor! Doctor!! I think I'm turning into a pool ball. Get to the back of the queue!
Dawn breaks over a wet and grey Manchester. It's raining. Again. Outside the office window, a shopping trolley is having a race down the Irwell with a slightly crazed duck. The big money is on the duck.
Inside, it's approaching fever pitch as the finishing touches are put to our first game, Pool Nation. A small band of just 10 occasionally-presentable gamers, we're giving our balls that one last polish. Ball obsession may sound like something a '70s DJ may be afflicted with, but here at CherryPop, in one way or another, we're all smitten.
We've even been known to dress up as giant pool balls and scare small children.
In Huw's corner, he's doing what astrophysicists do best - bouncing pool balls around and making sure they behave themselves. To Huw, a spot of ball-on-ball interaction is physics porn, pure and simple. Nobody describes the inner dynamics of what happens on the baize, second by second,...

To quote: We're excited to announce a brand new game mode for Road of Devastation (the expansion pack to Dead Nation) called Arcade, which is a brand new way to experience Road of Devastation!
Everyone who's taken the Road knows of the Egogate experiment - to find the perfect zombie killer who can survive longest against ever-increasing odds (the fallen heroes' DNA are allegedly used to clone and breed the perfect soldier).
The new Arcade mode may actually see you survive the ordeal and get out alive! You can choose your difficulty level, and checkpoints will revive (or is that clone?) you.
Completing Arcade mode on different difficulty levels will also unlock new Road of Devastation concept art.
If you've never experienced Road of Devastation before, now's the perfect time! Think you've got what it takes to get out alive? Download Arcade mode today and find out!
113w ago - Sony VP of Product Marketing Scott Steinberg has shared a video below in celebration of PlayStation Nation's Long Live Play with fans today.
To quote: Hello PlayStation Nation, Early last month, with some ambiguity, we announced that we were looking for a few good gamers to assist us with a special assignment related to our freshly launched Long Live Play campaign.
Long Live Play honors gamers from all walks of life and recognizes you for making PlayStation who we are today.
We asked members of the PlayStation Nation to email us with pictures of themselves holding their PS3 controller and in 30 words-or-less, describe how they epitomize the ultimate PlayStation gamer. I know that PlayStation gamers are some of the most impassioned fans in the world, but I was blown away by the thousands of responses that flooded my email.
After weeks of anticipation, I can finally reveal the complete ambition behind Long Live Play. I'm delighted to announce that we've painstakingly reviewed each submission and selected a dozen or so die-hard gamers to represent the PlayStation Nation in a brand new Long Live Play campaign that will air on national TV starting October 5th....

117w ago - Today Housemarque Game Designer Petteri Putkonen has announced that Dead Nation is expanding on the PS3 console with the introduction of the Road of Devastation PlayStation 3 DLC!
To quote: We hereby announce exciting news for Dead Nation players around the globe! We've been hard at work creating a new downloadable expansion called "Road of Devastation"!
Before we say more, we'll take this moment to acknowledge an epic milestone in the number of zombies killed worldwide: over 11,700,000,000 - and counting!
To put that number in perspective, that's more than 1.5 times the entire world's population of today (though the game takes place in the near future where Earth's population has grown much bigger...so don't worry, there's still plenty of zombies left).
Also, our worldwide recruit count has risen to over 3.8 million! We wish to humbly thank all the people who have supported the game.
Now, onto Road of Devastation:
From the ashes of the apocalypse, an organization has worked in the shadows, tampering with the human gene, modifying and improving upon it to create the perfect soldier, the ultimate zombie-killing machine - you! Continuing from the events where the original game left off (or, is it actually the other way around...,...
