114w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a Crysis 2 PlayStation 3 interview today with Crytek alongside news of a new PS3 multiplayer demo's arrival.

To quote: Console gamers didn't get the chance to experience the first Crysis, a shooter known for making PC gamers feel self-conscious about the power of their graphics cards. PlayStation 3 owners won't be left out of the follow-up, as Crysis 2 arrives on PS3 next week.

Recently I spoke with Executive Producer Nathan Camarillo about those trademark Crytek visuals, and about the new multiplayer demo, which just hit PSN last night.

PlayStation Blog: We know Crytek can produce on the PC. How do you utilize the PS3 to live up to the high PC standard?

Nathan Camarillo: It's the core of CryEngine 3 that's able to scale appropriately and we can adjust per platform exactly what we wanna get out of it. We want the exact same gameplay experience, the same fun, the same intensity, all the same visual information that you need to understand and play the game appropriately. It's just a lot of under the hood magic.

To quote: Today, the PlayStation 3 demo of Blur became available in the PlayStation Store -- and you know what comes standard?

Pools of lightning bolts, explosive mines, bursts of nitro speed, and big glowing red balls of homing-missile danger. This is the kind of arcade-style combat racing that gets my motor running.

160w ago - Today Capcom PR Manager Brian Keltner has revealed that the Lost Planet 2 multiplayer PS3 demo is now available on PSN, and he also shared a trailer video for the PlayStation 3 title below.

To quote: Beginning with today's PlayStation Store Update, the Lost Planet 2 Multiplayer Demo will be available on PSN. Get together with up to 16 players, grab some weapons, jump in a vital suit and compete in Elimination, Team Elimination, or Data post Grab modes.

This is just a sample of the various modes and ten maps you'll be able to play when the full game ships on May 11.

But wait, there is more! Downloading the demo does more than just let you get a first taste at Lost Planet 2. Capcom has started an exciting charity campaign called, "Kill Big for Charity".

We are partnering with Music for Relief, a non-profit organization dedicated to disaster relief and disaster risk mitigation, to contribute $20,000 to charity if one million demos are downloaded across both PSN and XBL before May 5, 2010. Before getting into some details about the demo the team at DICE wanted to thank SCEA for helping us get the demo out a week early for North America. So, thank you to all those at SCEA that helped make this happen, you guys seriously rock!

The PS3 community has played a special role in the pending success of BFBC2, so thanks to all the participants we had in the beta last November. From that beta, more than 130 gameplay changes were made and almost all of them made it into this demo.
