To quote: Here is a package for cfw users. There is a readme in the zip explaining the, still rather sloppy, input scheme. Otherwise it is based very closely to the original source of stella 3.3. All of the input modes and overlays are part of sdcell.

From the ReadMe file: Stella 3.3 for PlayStation 3

This is a light port of stella using the sdcell library. Only changes necessary for the PS3 were made to the source.

The interface is still a little rough around the edges.

Inputs:

•Press R3 to toggle between 'soft mouse' and joystick mode.
•In soft mouse mode, use the left stick to move the cursor, Cross to left click, and Square to Right click.
•In joystick mode the gamepad acts as a standard SDL Joystick, with the exception that the L3 and R3 buttons are unavailable for use.
•In soft mouse mode press L3 to toggle the on screen keyboard. As of this writing the osk in barely functional. While their state is tracked, the modifier...

294w ago - Activision has narrowed down a launch date for its upcoming open world extravaganza Prototype, confirming a June 2009 release for the ambitious project.

To quote: Word comes via a press release detailing the forthcoming New York Comic Con, in which the publisher states, "Hands-on - fans get their first chance to play the highly anticipated open-world/action thriller, PROTOTYPE, planned for release in June."

Due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, Prototype pits you in control of Alex Mercer, an individual who possesses the ability to consume his foes, gaining him access to their memories and experiences.

Mercer also has access to a variety of super-human abilities, including superior strength, speed, and dexterity, allowing him to out-run vehicles, run up the sides of buildings and jump extraordinarily long distances.

EA CEO Hints That Mass Effect 2 Will Be a Multi-platform Title

50°
294w ago - In talking about big titles for EA's next fiscal year, CEO John Riccitiello dropped hints about the future of the epic space-themed RPG franchise Mass Effect.

"[In Q4], BioWare will release Mass Effect 2 on multiple platforms," he said during a Tuesday earnings call.

The original 2007 Mass Effect was initially an Xbox 360 exclusive published by Microsoft Game Studios. EA's acquisition of BioWare opened up rumors that the franchise could go multiplatform.

Mass Effect later appeared on PC.

Riccitiello did not specifically mention the PS3 in his statement, but the nature of EA as a multiplatform third-party publisher would suggest that "multiple platforms" would include Sony's machine in the equation.

Multiple calls into EA and BioWare were unanswered as of press time.

Rumor: Monster Hunter 3 Could Go Multi-platform

50°
302w ago - When Monster Hunter 3 was revealed to the public, most were shocked that the game would appear on a Nintendo system.

Rather than releasing on the PS3, Capcom had decided to go with the Wii to release the game. However, if the latest rumor is true, Monster Hunter 3 might not be a Wii exclusive after all.

A rough translation of a blurb from a foreign gaming magazine is as follows: "The decision of Monster Hunter 3's Wii-exclusivity is not yet final."

This bit of information comes from a Capcom representative. The thing is, as was mentioned, the line from the representative is a rough translation.

Moreover, we can't be 100% sure that this rumor is true until Capcom officially confirms/denies the rumor.

PS3 exclusives sell 45% better than Multi-platform releases

200°
328w ago - PS3 fanboys don't like to share, it seems. According to EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich, PS3 owners prefer exclusives on their systems.

In fact, a title that is exclusive to PS3 will sell 45% better on the system than a multiplatform title. Exclusives on both the Wii and Xbox 360, according to the analyst, only have a "small increase" over multiplatform titles.

June NPDs are almost guaranteed to belong to Sony, and Microsoft may respond to two consecutive months of PS3 victories through a price cut announced at E3.

How will this affect the price of the PS3? "If there is a hardware price cut, it is not known if Sony will follow suit right way, but it would be safe to assume that Sony would execute some type of plan within a 2 month window of any hardware price cut from the Xbox 360."

The console war looks to be heating up. It'll be interesting to see where it goes in the coming months.
