PlayStation Plus: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for Members

50°
38w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer is here with this weeks PS Plus update, which includes Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for PlayStation Plus members.

To quote: Submit to the addictiveness of Monster Hunter with MH: Freedom Unite, free for PlayStation Plus members starting Tuesday, 3/25. Take down bizarre creatures and loot their bodies for crafting components so you can make more powerful weapons to take down bigger, badder monsters.

If you don't want to take on enemies alone, you can play with up to 4 of your friends. Even if you can't pull a group of friends together, you can always hire a Felyne companion in the game, and let's face it, they are way more adorable than any of your friends.

This week for our Spring Fever sale you can pick up Fez on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita at a discount along with a bunch of BioShock markdowns.

You can download Monster Hunter Freedom Unite after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, 3/25.

Shuttle Quest 2000: R-Type Meets Monster Hunter on PS Mobile

50°
64w ago - TACSgames developer Thomas Hopper explained to fans today that Shuttle Quest 2000 is essentially R-Type meets Monster Hunter on PlayStation Mobile.

To quote: Over the last year, I have been working hard to bring fun games to PlayStation Mobile. I have created many titles to fit the many tastes of mobile gamers. My most recent game, Shuttle Quest 2000, is sort of a cross between and R-Type and Monster Hunter.

Become humanity's best shuttle pilot as you confront the evil alien forces of General Xarod. You'll meet many characters on your adventure, including humans, aliens, a pirate robot shop keeper and a very grumpy door.

To make your shuttle more combat-effective, you'll embark on quests, which will give you more resources and money to buy or craft new weapons, items, and drones. Defeating enemy megaships will alert your adversaries and make your job harder, but by conquering them, you will unlock more resources and weapons.

There are tons of different combinations of weapons and drones that you can use to make your shuttle a unique fighting machine.

I'm passionate about classic gaming, so I've done my best to make the game as authentic as possible with retro-accurate graphics, visual effects, chip tune music and sound effects. I wanted to make the space station...

Video: VHBL PS Vita 1.80 Running Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

750°
119w ago - Following up on the UVLoader Usermode PS Vita Loader development news, this weekend wololo has officially unveiled a video of VHBL for PS Vita 1.80 running on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite below!

To quote from his blog: I forgot to upload the “proof of concept” video this morning when I announced Neur0n’s exploit for Monster Hunter, so there you go.

In this video, we are running the exploit (which is done by going to the “Download” section of the game), I then go to the “savegame” section of the memory stick in order to install some homebrews: Wagic and CSPSP.

Wagic seems particularly long to install, but this is because its resource file is a single 40MB file which takes a little while to extract an copy. You can then see me play both Wagic and CSPSP on the PS Vita through the exploit.

The Files are coming soon

Update: VHBL r160 for Vita 1.80 is now released (via wololo.net/2012/09/11/release-vhbl-r160-for-vita-1-80/) as follows:

A few days ago we announced the name of the game that is being used for Neur0n’s...

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite PSP Players Unite with AdhocParty

50°
265w ago - Today Capcom Entertainment's Sr. Director of Communications and Community Chris Kramer has announced that Monster Hunter Freedom Unite PSP players can do just that- unite with AdhocParty.

To quote: For the better part of a year, Japanese PlayStation 3 owners have been enjoying an amazing service on their PS3s, called adhocParty. As of this afternoon, all of us PSPers here in North America will finally be able to jump on the adhocParty bandwagon as well.

This news is especially exciting for [Register or Login to view links], as it means that [Register or Login to view links] players will now be able to connect with each other without having to be hanging out in the same room.

What is adhocParty? Smarter people than me can tell you all about the service right here.

You've probably heard stories about the unbelievable Monster Hunter juggernaut in Japan, and how it's reached the point that one in every five Japanese PSP owners are playing the game.

Capcom has sold millions and millions of copies of the three PSP titles in Japan to date, and Monster Hunter 2G (which we confusingly call Monster Hunter Freedom Unite in North America and [Register or Login to view links]) was...

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is Out this Tuesday for PSP

50°
287w ago - Capcom's Shawn Baxter has revealed today that this coming Tuesday Monster Hunter Freedom Unite will be available for PSP.

To quote: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is just around the corner. It's hitting the shelves on this Tuesday, June 23rd. I've talked a bit about the game previously when we released the demo a few weeks back, and now you get the chance to dive into one of the most immersive PSP games available.

Monster Hunter is a game packed with variety. As the name states, you'll be hunting and slaying all various kinds of monsters in the areas around your home, Pokke Village. There's so many different monsters that I've lost count. And you'll be in a vast and varied landscape of deserts, jungles, swamps, mountains, caves, snow, active volcanoes, and more.

Your character can be customized in just about anyway possible, down to even the sound of their voice. Taking pieces of the monsters you've carved off, and items you've gathered in the world give you the means to create thousands of unique pieces of armor and weapons. With so much to customize, you'll probably never run into anyone with the same setup as you.

Being that the game is so large, you'll never run out of things to do. There's literally over 500 quests to go on, and you can even take...
