Square Enix is doing the whole "teaser countdown site" thing again. This time, a new teaser site linked to from the Square Enix official page appears to be counting down to a Monday reveal of a game that has something to do with the word "Bahamut."
The last time Square Enix hosted a countdown page, the world was given the gift of Chrono Trigger DS. That teaser page didn't do too much to hide the identity of the game in question, promising a Nintendo DS title with the initials "CT."
This time, the teaser site, bahamut.jp, makes no mention of a system. As for the name Bahamut, Square Enix does have a long lost Japan-only Super NES strategy RPG called Bahamut Lagoon. Perhaps another revival is on the way?
Of course, this is all speculation. Any guesses? Comment below!
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift's Game Director Nigel Kershaw has shared some online play tips today over at the PS Blog as follows:
There’s a few different ways of experiencing Pacific Rift online, here’s the low down and some tips -
Matchmaking We wanted to ensure that players could find another game quickly, but also that once they got into a game they didn’t have to rely on the host to get the race started. There are two options when matchmaking: Ranked or Casual. Ranked pitches you against players of a similar skill level whilst Casual will put you up against anyone and everyone.
Matchmaking will, quite simply, group players together who are looking for a game, pick a Ticket for them (a race setup) and get them into a race as quickly as possible. And don’t worry, if you don’t like the Ticket that is randomly chosen for you - it’s possible to veto it (if you get a majority vote).
Community Manager Bryan Intihar of Insomniac Games shared the following via PS Blog today:
It’s here! Well, almost. The launch of Resistance 2 is now only days away, so we hope you and your Bullseye are just about ready to go huntin’ for some Chimera. The game officially hits store shelves in North America on November 4, and to help celebrate Resistance 2’s arrival, we’ve got something extra-special planned:
Midnight Launch Event: That’s right, Resistance 2 is taking over the PlayStation Store in San Francisco’s Metreon for the night of November 3rd (and early on the 4th). In addition to being one of the first to pick up a copy of the game, attendees will be able to meet a host of Insomniacs (including Ted Price, our President and CEO, and members of the community team), receive some cool swag, get their copy of the game signed, and have their picture taken and placed on the cover of Resistance 2.
Today the PlayStation Blog's PR Manager Jill Webber shared the following contest for those interested:

Product Manager Ed Loonam shared the following update via PS Blog for MotorStorm fans today:
One week to go until the launch of MotorStorm Pacific Rift. Hopefully you’ve been getting some good information on the game from Nigel and the team from Evolution Studios in their weekly MotorStorm Monday posts.
If you haven’t seen it yet, please keep your eyes out for the recently completed commercial of MotorStorm Pacific Rift. In an effort to introduce the new, remote island location, there were a few real-life Stormers who strapped into their atvs, bikes, buggys and trucks and jumped from a C-130 Hercules at 10,000 feet in an effort to start the evasion of Pacific Rift.
No special effects on this jump... just pure adrenaline and gritty attitude. Check out the commercial above along with some photos from the shoot.
