To quote: "I'm running xbox media centre on my xbox360 by booting a copy of avalaunch modified with a halo title id to get it running then I boot xbmc from the avalaunch file manager.

xbmc on the xbox360 currently has minimal features working but with a bit of tweaking by someone a bit smarter than me we should have a fully functional xbmc.

hddx/compatibility/'place xefu files here'

hdd1/compatibility/xbox1/'place xbmc folder'

hope this helps!"

Microsoft Performs Mass Bans on Modified XBox 360 Consoles

255w ago - Update: Microsoft's [Register or Login to view links] has now officially confirmed the bans.

This Halloween it appears Microsoft has pulled a TRICK with no TREAT on modified XBox 360 console owners... specifically, mass bans have been initiated against them.

IGN (linked above) have confirmed this news, to quote: "We have taken action against a small percentage of consoles that have been modified to play pirated game discs," a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN.

"In line with our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community, we are suspending these modded consoles from Xbox LIVE."

Though Microsoft wouldn't confirm specifically when these bannings took place, a quick look over on its official forums suggest it's been going on over the course of this past week.

Plenty of users have created threads on the technical feedback forum reporting of having their Xbox 360 console banned.

Video: Slot-Loading XBox 360 Modified Game Console

304w ago - Console modder RDC has set out to make a slot-loading Xbox 360 by modifying an iMac DVD drive. He says its now functional and has provided a video of it.

To quote: Well, I figured I'd see how far I can get on this thing and have been wanting to take a stab at it for awhile but didn't feel like trashing a perfectly good slot loader drive to see if I could.

Then I remembered I had this little gem just sitting around doing nothing at all, figured I may as well use it for something besides dumpster filler..
