Press Release: CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 2 RESURGENCE PACK AVAILABILITY FOR PLAYSTATION 3 SYSTEM AND WINDOWS PC
London, UK - 6th July, 2010 - The second pack of new multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available in the UK for Windows PC with the release of the Call of Duty: Modern...
188w ago - Last week we announced news of the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Expansion for PS3, and today Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist Robert Bowling has confirmed that it will arrive tomorrow on PlayStation Network and shared details, as follows:
Tomorrow, May 4th, will be an onslaught of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer goodness on the PlayStation Network!
First and foremost, the first downloadable content for Modern Warfare 2 – The Stimulus Package – will hit the PSN Store for $14.99 and bring with it five new maps to the multiplayer of MW2.
Included in those five new maps are two classic Call of Duty 4 maps that we all know and love, and three completely new locations that offer a variety of unique locations for your favorite gametypes. The Stimulus Package includes:
• Bailout - An American apartment complex that is amazing for objective gametypes, especially Capture the Flag, but one of those maps that works well regardless of what type of game you're playing it on. Its long sightlines – like sniping from a blown-out wall of a second-story apartment suite – give it some nice spots for long-range...
204w ago - According to a VG247 (linked above) source, Infinity Ward is not creating Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and is instead working on something "completely new."
It's unclear where the third game will be made if IW really has gone AWOL from the series.
Additionally, MW2 DLC packs are scheduled to release this "spring" as a timed 360 exclusive.
To quote: "Right now we don't have a clue what our next game is going to be, and we won't know what it will be until we finish with Modern Warfare 2, which won't be for a while," studio frontman Rob Bowling told IGN UK.
We were told by one dev source that a Canadian studio was handling it, but another pointed to newly-formed Sledgehammer Games, headed by ex-Visceral bosses Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey.
Sledgehammer, based in the Bay Area, is currently recruiting for a multiplayer designer with "five years experience working on current AAA multiplayer shooters for current consoles and PC."
The identity of Sledgehammer's first project is yet to be announced. Activision's only Canadian developer is Vancouver-based Radical Entertainment, the studio behind last year's free-roaming adventure, Prototype.
212w ago - Although it's not a big surprise, a recent IGN Review has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC is already planned by Infinity Ward.
Downloadable content is set to include online map packs alongside missions for the successful Spec Ops.
Additionally, Infinity Ward recently released a small (non-downloadable) update for the console versions containing new gamemodes dubbed 3rd Person Team Tactical, Team Deathmatch Express, and Mosh Pit.
Here are their descriptions, to quote:
"3rd Person Team Tactical 4 vs 4 in the 3rd person perspective with mixed game types such as Domination, TDM, etc.
Team Deathmatch Express Regular Team Deathmatch with shorter intermissions in between matches
Mosh Pit A random selection of any game mode. You never know what you're going to play."
