Power consumption between the two models is about the same both in stand-by mode and when turned on, while the CUH-1100 is about 50 grams lighter than its older counterpart, weighing 2.70 Kg instead of 2.75.

The new motherboard has the model number SAB-001, while the original one was SAA-001. Below you can see two pictures featuring both sides of the new board.

11w ago - According to reports today a new PS4 model CUH-11xxA has been spotted in stores, which replaces PlayStation 4 model CUH-10xxA with details below.

To quote: "It all started with a few certifications by different national radio agencies, including the [Register or Login to view links], but Sony never officially talked about the new PS4 model CUH-11XXA.

Turns out that the new revision is already available for sale and is currently replacing the old CUH-10XXA. No one really noticed, while Sony made no announcement about it. We had to go ahead and find out by ourselves.

The first shipment apparently came to Europe as part of the bundle with The Last of Us, bearing the model number CUH-1116A, as you can see in the lower right part of the box below.

Recently, the new console appeared in the Destiny Bundle both in North America and Europe both in white and black, bearing the CUH-1115A model for North America.

But lately the console is appearing also outside bundles. Listing for the Jet black console with the CUH-1115A and CUH-1116A model numbers have been recently appearing at multiple retailers, like [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links].

Cheaper PS3 CECH-4300C 500GB Model Announced for Japan This Month

200°
17w ago - Today Sony [Register or Login to view links] a cheaper PS3 CECH-4300C 500GB model currently slated for Japan later this month with details below.

To quote: "Sony has just announced a new, cheaper PlayStation 3 will be launched in Japan on August 28.

The new CECH-4300C model packs in 500GB of storage and will be on sale for 25,980 yen, which comes to about £151/$253/AU$272, making it a tad cheaper than the current model.

Meanwhile the existing 250GB and 500GB black PS3 models, along with the 250GB white one, will be discontinued. We've contacted Sony to ask whether we might see the new model launched globally, and what other changes might be included with the new console.

It may be nothing more than some slightly tweaked innards, but a cost reduction would be more than welcome - especially as Sony's still giving its full support to the last-gen console, with plenty of new titles still on the horizon."

Hands-on the new with PS Vita

PS Vita's new design has tons of tweaks and adjustments, aside from the obvious thinner design and weight reduction. The Start, Select, Power, and PS buttons have been raised slightly, making them easier to press.

The grips on the back of the system have grown a bit, resulting in a more comfortable experience and less accidental taps on the rear touch pad. The edges of the system are more rounded, which just feels better. The display is now LCD based, but I didn't...
